Im making more use of the cue markers in Traktor but cant help but think of how additional features would be helpful to me.

    1) Color coding

(I'd like the option to choose colors for cues I set so I can make a system that works for me and I could look at the track and see, red cue marker = kick kill, blue = hats start, etc)

better yet...there is an option to set the track end indicator and I like that and think it can be expanded on.

    2) Popup menu fades that you could set intervals for on the upcoming cue marker you set.

For example: I load and start track A and the 1st cue marker I set is 35sec into the track and its for a "bass drop". 4 seconds prior to the cue marker a popup window starts flashing in track A (just like a track end indicator) that the "bass drop" is coming in 4 seconds.

You'd be able to set parameters for each cue. Maybe I want the popup to show 4 seconds before, maybe 4 beats, maybe four bars, etc.

I think this would also help with the crowded text field for the cue marker area...I find myself having to abbreviate allot.

Anybody else think they'd make use of this?

Seriously, in the last week I had an almost identical idea to this whereby (an area in) the deck header would flash up to get my attention when the track goes past some specially inserted markers, either to warn me of drum drop outs, ideal places to use FX, mix out of, sample the melody over another track, suggestions of other tracks that previously mixed very well with the current one, the possibilties are numerous as to what you could remind yourself of.

Plus if the tempo/beatgrid is correctly set, you could warm yourself 8/16 etc beats in advance then watch it count down in beats to the event you wanted to warn yourself about!

Could be called "attention getter" markers. :D

A highly anticipating +1 from me, introducing this option would be very forward thinking and has DEFINITE potential.

I could see how colour coded cue points could be pretty handy +1

As for being reminded as to whats comming up you can use the "beats to cue" function in the options to enable a counter of how many beats you have left until your next cue point. Thats not to say though that option to have a something flashing at you as a more obvious visual reminder when you need it isnt a good idea though :)

There's also a bug in the current version of the cue labels: say you have labels for cues 1,2,3 & 5 (4 undefined) when u click on the dropdown list it shows 1:bass in,2: snare in,3: lick,4: lick2 even though the 4 is realy the 5th cue...

A "start next track" cue that would flash the stripe (like the existing end-of-track feature) xx seconds before the cue, would be great.

Even it it was just one additional cue type, ("flasher?") that used the existing end-of-track time setting, that would be a big help. Doesn't sound that difficult to implement.

Colored cue markers would be fantastic - and makes a lot of sense.

The popup seems overly fancy though - seeing as you can already type in comments for each cue, it would be nice if these comments simply appeared for the cue that is next in line (as it is, you need to hit the dropdown box to view what comments you left, otherwise it only shows the comment for the cue that you've jumped to, which isn't very intuitive)
