    TOP 3 Feature Requests:

    1. Ability to slice to Equal 8ths and Equal quarters

    2. Ability to edit the transient markers

    3. Rex file support

Number one is definitely top of my list I don't know about you guys ?
Also the Transient detection needs tuning up in my opinion it's a little inaccurate. Early days yet though i suppose, here's hoping :S

this isn't #1 on my list, but I would definitely like to see it.

I'd also like to see 1/32 as an option for slice intervals.

manually delete or add slice points

i'm praying that the ability to manually edit (delete and or add) slice points when slicing a sample is being worked on by NI... if anyone has any insight if it is being worked let me know pleaseee.....:S

    i have no insight.

but at the very least, i would like to be able to remove slices, as the Transient choice seems to add slices that you don't want :(

Chop samples into 16/8/4 slices (no BPM)

PLEASE add the ability to chop a sample into 16 or 8 or 4 equal slices independent of BPM, NOT 1/16ths, 1/8ths, 1/4ths.

Currently, if I import or record a perfectly looped sample, my options are to either slice via transients, or to split the slices up into 1/16th notes based on the BPM (which i don't know, or care to know).

Just slice it 16/8/4 ways, and let me worry about the BPM later when i put the pieces back together in the pattern.

    Thanks

    Hey tristero,

Does reducing the transient sensivity bring the expected result (16, 8, 4 Samples)... This might depend on the material, but it could be worth a try.

    Very necessary!

Yeah, too many slices stutter the output :-(

That would work if the sample was a metronome, or just a four-on-the-floor kick drum. lol

i'm glad others share my sentiment... i hope NI is watching and they decide to make us early adopters very happy ... as soon as possible. i did a lot of homework and research before i decided to purchase Maschine and what got me hooked was the fact that for producers like myself who love working entirely in the in the box with our DAW of choice, Maschine has the potential of being a dream come true.

so if you listening NI make christmas come early for me and fulfil my short but sweet wish list:

    1. add and or remove slice points when chopping samples
2.more individual outs (its software so i'm sure this is easily possible)
    3. custom scene names
    4. Midi in and out to play other out board gear
    5. rex file support ( every sampler has this, it maschine looses some of its luster not having it)
right now thats all i can think of. keep in mind that i'm purely concentrated on finding a consistent fluid work flow within my current setup... (the main reason i purchased a maschine)

In addition to that the option to merge two or more slices into one (like in MPCs Chopshop) would be very useful. Another workaround would be to be able to activate/deactivate slice points like in Recycle.

so how will Maschine work out where to put the 16 slices, if you don't want to choose BPM?

The slices are always equally spaced if you don't choose transient...

Or am I getting something wrong?

as tristero said a perfectly looped sample, without knowing the bpm. why not be able to put it in 4/8/16 equal parts? Also: why can i only choose between 16th and transient, not 8th etc.? i always want to turn the knob and see there's nothing happening. Kind of frustrating a bit.

Chopshop on the MPC and Recycle are perfect. Why not "adapt" some editing features from them...
16, 8, 4, 2 equal slices only work if you have not only a perfectly looped sample, but every beat in that sample has to be perfectly quantized.

Btw, if you want 8 slices from Maschine, one workaraound at the moment is to duplicate the bar (copy the sample to the end of itself), cut it to 16 equal slices, dump the last 8. Voila... you've got your loop sliced up in 8ths.

yes this is a necessary feature.... sometimes i want to chop a loop into 16ths,8ths,4ths...but sometimes i want to chop it into 4,8, or 16 equal parts....truncate is also necessary...

i cant stress how important it is to have flexible editing features...

'apply to' gives you flexibility, but without a truncate option you're wasting memory (as far as i can tell)...
