The promised bug fix ("maintanance update") has not been provided, and 14 months has gone since I purchased the flawed product. The bugs that affect my work would have been trivial to fix. Native Instruments treat their customers very badly indeed.

Well....NI just released an update to FM8.

    New and improved features:
Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" compatibility
    Fixes:
    Multiple instance recall fixed

Hell, I got really tired reading through that list of improved features and fixes.

I suppose they need a holiday now, so we may see another update late 2008....or 2009....or maybe we'll have to pay more money to get FM9 in 2010.

    Thanks NI :(

What about minor, annoying bugs like problem with MIDI learn?

    Graphics problems FM8 - Leopard

I seem to experience some graphics drawing problems with my FM8 on OSX Leopard 10.5.1 when using as a plugin in Garageband. Anyone else has this problem?
Standalone graphics are fine - although I have not had success with Midi in from my M-Audio Keystation 49e yet when using as standalone app. Midi works fine when used as plugin in Garageband though...
I have tried to reboot several times.

yes, and improve the database search. While scrolling through the sounds, FM8 is very slow

I haven't even managed to activate FM8 on 10.5.1 - and NI have been no help. Has anyone here had any issues? and if so, what was the solution?

I don't know about the Mac end of things, but on a PC, Quicktime 7 prevented me from activating until I uninstalled it. Never knew why and I don't think it was ever fixed.

You might try the latest version of NI Service Center, if you haven't already...

Already tried the latest Service Center, and in fact I've also tried the one from the original DVD and the updater, and they don't work either... the strange thing is Kontakt 2 activated just fine, so I'm inclined to think it's an issue with FM8 rather than Service Center or the OS.

I do have some third-party Quicktime codecs so maybe I'll try removing them and see what happens...

I will no longer purchase anything made by Native Instruments. This company has turned out to be a "Massive" disappointment after all.

The all-important operator copy-paste buttons are mysteriously missing in FM8. In Battery 3, you can no longer preview samples as you add them to a cell. You must use a horribly inefficient and ugly "browser" pane now. This kills productivity, and it #$%ING PISSES ME OFF!

Goodbye forever, Native... >$2000 later, I'm giving up. I'll go for far cheaper thrills from now on. Native, shame on you for not following through, for catering to the unwashed masses over the die hards. Battery 3 was bad enough, this is the final nail in the coffin.

Your business practices are loathsome, your products have become shoddy and gimmicky, your customer service sucks. I don't WANT a 33GB sample library! I WANT to be able to QUICKLY ***SAMPLE*** things! That's what a sampler DOES, remember? I don't give a @#$% about libraries!

You've lost my business for good, and that's a promise. I hope you're happy.
