The morph pad would be so much more powerful if it worked with:

    1. Envelope settings so sounds can change between plucked and bowed etc.

    2. A variable smoothing option to stop the sound jumping between settings which don't "morph" *. (set by voice)

    3. Pitch gliding so transitions between different operator pitch settings produced a glide rather than a jump. (See 2. above)

    * From what I can tell only the matrix levels are adjusted smoothly by the morphing process

There are a few more parameter like offset frequency, filter frequency/spread/type/routing, LFO speed/amount, waveform phase, panning, FX send as well, to name the ones that I remember right away...

Ok apart from the offset frequency, filter frequency/spread/type/routing, LFO speed/amount, waveform phase, panning and FX send, what is missing?*

    Oh yes, envelopes!

I bet NI are holding this back for FM9 :(

I see your problem, a soft wavetable synthesis like blending between the frequencies was on my wishlist while working on the presets.
When it comes to the envelopes, if possible I morph between different carriers with different envelope settings as workaround, what is still just some kind of blending...
Other than that I simply automate the easy edit parameters...

That's sort of where I've got to as a solution Summa, just gets a bit tricky tweaking 8 sliders at the same time ;)

    I'm investigating this...

as part of an EasyEdit work around. It does potentially offer the possibility of creating a whole new performance overlay for FM8 or any other synth.

I still think given the mathematical complexity of FM8 those genius NI programmers shouldn't have much difficulty morphing eight envelopes.

Unfortunately LFO speeds and mod depths are not morphable. But I would like to request this feature!

I am sure most of the parameters you want morphed can be done so using KORE.
