yeah sometimes you realize the grid is not right and all your cue points are set exactly in grid points.

It would be cool that the hot cues set exactly on the grid beats would move when moving the grid backward or forward.

you should be setting the grid and making sure it is correct before setting cue points. if you go through the process the proper way this would be pointless.

yeah, sure, but I just happened to open some of the first tracks I imported when I got traktor and at that I didn't know how the grid worked well...

+1 On this one, I sometime end up with a grid that needs to be moved a tiny bit in either direction for a perfect match and this would help a lot.

So, you would have them go in and spend thousands of dollars to add this when it only takes a few minutes to adjust it your selfs?

+1 for this, those of us with thousands of tracks with cue points numbering multiple times that, would appreciate it. I myself find that even though I mapped a grid seemingly fine using both visual and auditory input, I listen to it in sync with another track and the phase meter is steady but offset. Thus adjusting the beatgrid to line up better would be great, but the cue points get thrown off as a result.

I believe it was requested before but I couldn't find it in search.

+ 1. sounds like a great idea to me. maybe when they introduce the new warping system they could make this happen

I guess you'd have to have an option on each individual cue point. A tick box. Snap - the default. The cue point snaps to the nearest beatmarker. Untick to deselect snap - you can put the cue point wherever. Best for drifting tracks/acapellas/vocal snippits etc.

Telly, all you have to do is shift the phase meter. it's that easy for your situation.

I want to move the grids, not compensate by moving the meter.

Thats called djing! would you like all your music at the exact same BPM as well. there is a reason i sent you that message that you keep on all your posts, and this explains it. the rest of the people on this thread may have a legitimate reason for wanting this but your reason is idiotic. when i try to argue with a fact you brush it aside as if it didn't mean anything when it did. so when you would like to have an actual intelligent conversation, please let all of us know.

Having the grids tight helps with fx as well. So, if you shift the phase meter, the grid off for fx and for sync with internal play back.

now that i can understand. i still don't think the company should spend the money it would take to add this but that is the type of response that is intelligent and thought out. thank you Rasmuffin.

Like you said, it's impossible to talk to me so why bother? You're just upsetting yourself. Go get a glass of milk, put me on your ignore list, and go about your day. I'll be prepping for my next gig, moving cue points and grids, and will not be affecting you in any way. So stop addressing me. It's a waste of time for most, and I will be sure to make this the last time I waste my time on you. Later.

by theory - if you turn on the snap & quantise buttons, wont you "SNAP" to the correct grid aniway when you press the hotcues? even tho they arent placed exactly on the grid?

which means theres really no need to shift all the hotcues as stated in the thread topic then?

Unless of course you don't use SNAP...and what about Rasmuffin's point about FX?

probably having an additional button to 'lock cue points to grid' would be enough... and actually, very useful.

i have had a few tracks where the grid (and cues, and so on) has been moved misteriously, and some more where everything has automagically disapeared...

so any help we can have to minimize time to perform re-works would be great! (imo)

I don't get your "this-is-stupid-learn-to-dj" attitude. This is a forum for asking suggestions that NI created, so they obviously want to know what new features we'd like to see. It's up to them to decide where to invest their efforts, not you, and not in this forum.

Even Richie Hawtin is using the sync function nowadays BTW...
