Move Collection to different drive

My music collection resides on D: on one computer. I would like to copy the colection to a notebook, but the notebook has no D: drive. I could use "Export the Collection" but that produces a flat file structure in the target directory (and cannot manage duplicate names). I could simply copy the directory structure, but this leaves my playlists invalid and all files must be re-analyzed.

Is there a more convenient way to move collections?

Option. (Make a backup of your configuration before attempting).

Edit the collection.nml file with the new path on your new computer. If you're using a Mac, ONLY EDIT the file on the Mac. Assuming you're running on Windows based on your message, use notepad. Cross editing between platforms can lead to corruption of the file.
