    Hi–
Please excuse me if this has been covered before, but:

I need to move the sample libraries for AP from their default install location on my internal drive (MacBook Intel machine) to an external FireWire drive. I seem to remember that in the past, this made it impossible for AP to find the samples.

Can you tell me the recommended way to move the sample libraries to and external hard drive so that the pathing doesn't get screwed up? (I'd prefer to keep the application files on the internal drive if possible ... but whatever is most foolproof is fine!)

Thanks very much for your help–

    Jay

Move the actual files, then in AP's prefs I think there's an option to tell it where the library is located. (Or it should prompt you when it launches, since it won't find it in the old location.)

This is from memory -- been a long time since I moved AP.

It's possible, but AP is impossible! I moved it, secured all the linking details, and it still crashes and disappears on me! I get a "default installation bla bla bla" error message. So, I deleted it and re-installed it on the external, and it works for a while, then goes haywire again. AP has been the most difficult application out of Komplete.

    Not yet fully tested ...

    Hi David, verdantunripe, et al.–

Well, I've found just moving the sample libraries and then pointing AP at them to not work in the past, but maybe that has been fixed. I always ended up having to delete and reinstall the entire program, including the sound libraries–not much fun. It would have been a deal-breaker if I'd known how much time I would spend on this before I purchased.

I did the move and updated the application but haven't had time to do any serious work with AP since then ... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

    Thanks!

    Jay

I had the same problem also, and I just purchased and installed Komplete5.
I was able to leave the libraries on the drive and just re-installing the app.. and "tell" Akoustik the existing path during the re-install...

I installed AP and pointed it to install the samples on my firewire HD without issue. It has not crashed on me one time since then. I've used it everyday for two weeks. I am very happy.

Macbook 2.0 Ghz (Intel), 2GB RAM
