    Hello,

I know this is Komplete related, but I had to post it somewhere..

I decided to give my MBP a little air to breathe so I want to move my Komplete 7 libraries to my external hard drive without having to reinstall anything.

So how is this possible? Could you point out where the libraries are found and how I'm gonna tell the synths where the samples were relocated?

I may keep Battery samples on my internal hard drive, but want to get rid of the rest as I never really use them to be honest. By the way, how many gigs of samples do Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth etc. use? I remember it was 12 GB of samples for Battery.

Your replies are much anticipated. Thank you in advance.

I know only Reaktor and B3.
In B3 I have the entire lib. 14GB on external disc.
Reaktor installs its files in C/program files/NI/Reaktor. that I leave alone
User lib I choose another partition of HD.
I try to keep as little as possible in programs, because if they "go" I loose everything.
Programs are easy to reinstall, not too much loss anyway...
You don't have to reinstall programs, only change paths in preferences

you should be able to move the samples, even the Battery ones.

each application s in Standalone Mode has preferences where you point the application to the folders where the samples are. more details in your manuals.

Thank you for the reply. I've noticed that the main libraries that I want to move are Kontakt's libraries (~76 gb). I can move all of them except for one; the main 'Kontakt 4 Library'.

I have copied the files to my external hard drive, pointed out to Kontakt where this folder is and then I removed the library and tried to add it anew, as I did with the rest. But this one won't load, it doesn't even appear inside Kontakt. It will only appear if I load it from the old path (Users/Shared). Anyone had this problem before?

Any help with this is highly appreciated.

    Edit: Problem solved :)

With the main library you also need to set the path in the load/import tab in options.

    Again, what's the improvement?

The master drop down was usually populated AFAIR, so what was the problem with 5.6.0 way?
