Im with u altho i have not seen it in person will purchase once i can test drive it.. not going to buy it unless rhe on board os can handle todays needs and not limited to drive space out the gate.. if i have to buy a harddrive from the beginning then the price jumps to 2400 to 2500 and if the software wont act as a plugin in cubase like rewire then that a step back.. touch screen i like hope it is the game changer or yesterday's must have with todays tech.. what sont u like spill it

We saw the thing; we are DEF getting it. I used to take my REN and my iPad everywhere; I was so in love with the workflow but the soundcard is trash and the software didn't have alot of features in 2012. Now you tell me they mushed a mini-computer, better soundcard, iPad and Renaissance reimagined all together in black? You HAVE to get one.

    2012

But again.....The weird guy demo-ing the same routine shows after the hardware lust has cleared it is an expensive want not need. The young FL-Studio producer will come in your A Room and challenge you with GROSS BEAT and Arpeggiators. The Jam has those Performance FX at your fingertips with Touch Strips and it strums the notes good as a pianist or scratch like a DJ.

    2017

We want the details on the software or it's a new MPC. Yay. Anybody remember the MPC Touch was MEH until it grew a HD?
I'm just sayin....$2,200 is alota money! We need to see it work first. But I'm upgrading.

Does the new MPC has PDC ?
What about Multisamples for instruments, is it still only 4 samples ?

How about VST Instrument Parameters , is there something like Parameter Mapping and Pages (not just pages of parameters which can't be customised) as it is possible in Maschine ?

I can't find anything to really dislike about the hardware. There is an incredible amount of buttons though so you may find yourself overwhelmed until you master the layout.

...what i don't get is the concept of the x...it's big, it's heavy...so who wants to travel with such a big thing?...and on the other hand: why should i need a standalone mpc in the studio?...

Each key-group has 4x sample layers. You have up to 128x of these key-groups to make up a program. This comes to 512 multisamples per program.

In controller mode, your VSTs are supported. You can map your VST parameters to the MPC knobs. You get 6x pages of 16x parameters. All of these showing up on the Qlink OLEDs.

Note - outside of the OLEDs these features exist in the first generation of MPC Contollers.

The MPC-X is more of a studio piece. This would never leave my studio.

It is a standalone MPC and a controller. How do you currently use standalone hardware (drum machines, keyboards, synths, modules, etc) and controllers in the studio? You would use it the same way.

...but when it's not leaving your (and i reckon most of the people's) studio...why should it include an interface?...

If it's not leaving the studio, why make it a standalone?

...yes...that's the question...so it's basically a ren mk2 with interface without the need for an interface...

Because this is what many MPC users wanted. When the MPC Ren was realeased, the overwhelming feedback was that users wanted a hybrid not a disposable controller.

The MPC-X is not a cell phone so everyone doesn't need one.

The Ren shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as the MPC-X.

The MPC-X is a flagship, hardware MPC like the great models that has come before it that has a mode that turns it into a controller for the MPC Software.
