wow the mpc x is larger than I thought, I wish they would have made a third model between the size of the Live and the x with some faders and knobs on the left side of the unit:(

Used my mpc60 tonight again. Awesome. I am canceling my order for the X. Maschine studio already does the host software thing. Don't need it on mpc

There would be a greater chance that they release products in amounts / configurations that exceeds the demand.

Learning curve does look steep though. I don't know... Maschine work flow is wicked.

Somehow the only thing the X does for me is making me lust for another Maschine Studio. After the Ren and Studio desaster i might just join the NI crew again. Ah decisions, decisions ;)

    Cheers

Same lol... I can't imagine how another controller would look. They don't really need one though

It took me a few minutes to familiarize myself with the layouts of the buttons. Outside of that..not too different than the current MPCs models (same touch interface as the MPC Touch) as well as past MPC models (E.g., Sample Edit = the place you got to edit your samples).

I don't know. I don't even know what I would do if I had the money. $2300... I never liked the idea of having two drum machines. You can order only if you would be cool with N.I releasing a new beats of a controller in maschine studio mk2 lol

The thing that caught me with the maschine is the pad duplication, coming from chopping samples in cool edit/adobe auditon... maschines workflow is what allowed me to replace that method of chopping.

I am proud of my efforts in this regard in helping with the design and testing of this feature. Regardless of which way you like to chop, the MPC Ren/Live/X does it. Maschine, MPC 2500 JJOS, MPC 5000, MV-8800, ASR-10, Logic X and Recycle....all of the chopping features of these workstations have been added to the MPC Software / hardware.

I'm not hearing any movement on the side chain from anywhere, getting a little worried about that

    Jerome,

I have been watching the MPC Touch videos on Akai Pro's YouTube feed. Is it safe to assume that 2.0 will be mostly the same as 1.9, with the differences being the clip mode and time stretch?

Coming from the MPC1K, everything I've seen so far for the Touch seems pretty intuitive. The only real complaint I have is that the X-Y effects seem pretty cheesy from what I've heard, but certainly not a dealbreaker by any means.

Most of the improvements are in the MPC Software 2.0 GUI. I can't go into detail though until Akai reveals more about the update.

As far as the Live (which will also include the Touch), 2.0 includes (perhaps not all inclusive):
    1. Audio, Clip, and *CV Tracks (with waveform editing, and real time time stretch / pitch shifting / BPM sync where supported)
    2. New Qlink Edit Mode
    3 New Browser
    4. Create New / save projects
    5. Exporting / bounce improvements
    6. Sample Edit: auto detect BPM, delete / rename samples
    7. Customize Bank Button behavior

    Thanks! Two quick questions:

    1. Is the asterisk for CV meant to say these are only on the X?

    2. If I want to start learning the basic workflow of the Live, do you think it would be worthwhile to start going through the Touch manual or is the workflow different enough that I should wait for the Live manual to be released? I haven't been on an MPC in probably 5 years or so, so I want to brush up on what they can do these days.

The MPC Live doesn't have CV ports but has CV tracks...presumably to load projects created in the MPC Software or the MPC X.

The MPC Touch's workflow / manual will be nearly identical to the MPC Live's...so reading its manual is a great start.
