Yo I'm mapping a mpk mini mk2, and I'm trying to solve this issue another person from DJTT had an issue with 3 years ago so I'll quote him here:

"I was just wondering, is it possible to set cue and play buttons in that manner, that when play is pressed and the led is lit up, when i hit cue the play button led shuts off? I have an akai mpk mini."

so the LED in CC mode works fine in terms of press play and its on and press it again and its off except it doesn't react to any software changes. As in if I hit the cue button while the deck is playing, the LED doesn't turn off. or if i hit the play button on the software it doesn't turn the led on or off. here's an image of the way I mapped things currently...

Check your Max value under the button options. Many controllers does use 127 as a default but maybe the MPK is different.
Also check your manual and look up for the midi implementation charts for output mapping - maybe the input and output are defined with different Note/CC.
