    Hi friends,

I am a trombone player and longtime owner of Reaktor. I'm looking for a flexible multi FX ensemble with standard (delay, reverb, distortion) and non-standard (grain fx, modulation, ?) fx built in. I have built lots of my own ensembles and I could certainly build something myself, but I am interested in a really elegant, efficient ensemble that people actually use in live performance. Does anyone have any favorites to recommend from the User Library?

All the best and thanks for any help.

You might find individual fx in the UL to be or more interesting or advanced than 'standard' ones in a 'multi fx' package (unless you want ordinary sounds?). Find some quality individual fx that you like, then put them together in an ensemble, with some routing logic, then you can use ensemble level snapshots to save your patches. That way, you will get the fx YOU like, combined in a way that suits your playing style and music genre. It will also be more unique and individual.

Maybe what's needed is some sort of ready made 'multi-fx' router. So you can load up whatever fx you want into an ensemble, plug them into the router and then use the router to give you various combinations of series parallel, and various ordering options?

    Hi ColB,

I think you're right--I am more interested in an organizational frame work for various fx. After some looking, I think that I will build something and maybe I'll upload it if it seems useful.

    Best,
    James

Isn't that what Rolodecks does (the enhanced version)? Not free though.

OMega can input external audio and has a large array of inserts and effects.
It is very flexible and easy to change, but it is quite large and might take a while to get the grasp around. It is also fully stereo and uses quite a bit of CPU.
