    Hi,
I try to do something for few days now and I don't understand why I'm unable to do it.
I wish to play my pads on Maschine PLUGIN into a sequencer (Live or Bitwig). I want that, Every pad I hit send MIDI to a dedicated channel (pad 1 = channel 1, pad 2 = channel 2, ...) to a separate track in my sequencer, enabling me to also play melocid clip mith my drum sounds in Live or Bitwig clips. Thos clips would, in return trigger Maschine sounds so nothing would be recorded in Maschine Plugin.

The problem is that, even if I send the midi output to HOST with the appropriate channel (+ the correct midi batch setting on the group), I can't discriminate channels in my DAW midi input, since it is only showing a global MIDI In (pre or post).

Do anyone know a workaround for that ?

Yes, Ableton merges them all into a single channel.

I was using bitwig Bitwig - I assumed it was a Maschine issue because it failed in both Bitwig and Ableton.

    Can anyone else confirm this?

    I can.

You must separate the midi channels by using the 'input transformer' in Cubase.

I also think this works in Studio One, but I have not tried it as I do not own it.
    Someone mentioned it somewhere.

I can't confirm for Cubase, but it works in REAPER and I've run into the Live MIDI channel merging issue many times aside from Maschine. From what you say, it seems that Bitwig also took some of Live's worse traits too.

I dont want to chime in and confuse the issue, but I've been using Maschine in Cubase from day one, to record midi directly and bypass the Maschine sequencer. However I've been recording all pads in a Group to one midi channel in Cubase. So Group 1 = midi channel 1 , Group 2 = midi channel 2 ,and so on. Once this is done midi can be disolved to channels if needed, but I dont. No transformer is needed.

Problem has occurred after the 2.0 update since each Group now resets to Midi to Channels each time sounds are loaded. I've been saying that NI should make a DAW Mode for people who want to bypass the sequencer in Maschine. Also ,ST Joe did this workaround for Live to work as I've described

That update didnt effect the Midi Batch setup or the Thru status for Sound Input. These parameters reset every time you load a Group. Thats what makes it so tedious. All they need to do is make a mode to allow midi thru to be always off and always have Midi Batch Setup to always be sounds to midi notes.

As Mr Mahogany says, this was a different issue and concerned with audio routings between Sounds/Groups respectively when loading (e.g., having a Group output set to Ext. 9 was reset when loading a new Group, which didn't happen before and doesn't happen any longer).

I think even just a preferences option for whether MIDI thru is enabled by default and whether or not to retain the MIDI batch settings. The MIDI channel and source seem to be retained, so it's nearly there, just not quite.

Mr 36, you're correct, a simple preference for these are all thats needed. They could call it DAW Mode to restablish that Maschine is still a serious studio production tool that they ruined with the 2.o update.Either having a Mode or 3 preferences ,should be simple.

1 always has sounds to midi notes

2 always has thru turned off on Sound Input

3 always has midi sounds going to host
