    Dear members,

lets say i load up a 'Berlin Grand' instrument. When i play my keyboard i hear the piano sound. Now i load up a second 'Bass' instrument. I highlight the bass instrument and a red border appears around it, plus the visual keyboard colors below change. However, when i play my external keyboard it still plays the piano instead of the bass.

I want it to be set like this:
1st instrument: Load piano instrument, play piano instrument
If i load a next instrument, i want my external keyboard automatically to play that newly added instrument instead of the old one.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks

The second instrument is automatically assigned to respond to MIDI channel 2, but it's likely your controller keyboard, or your host sequencer (depending on whether you are using standalone or plug-in mode) is sending MIDI channel 1 to Kontakt.

You can change the default behavior in the preferences.

Or, when you load the second instrument, drag it on top of the first. This will cause it to replace the first (and will respond to MIDI channel 1), and cause the behavior you say you want.

Thanks for the tip, didn't knew that one.

Can i set up the preferences so that every time i double click an instrument it replaces the existing one, so there is always only 1 instrument loaded at a time?

No, there's no preference for that, but if that's what you want, just drag the new instrument on top of the old one, and it will get replaced.

Note you can also use the < and > buttons (just to the right of the instrument name) to load immediately adjacent (alphabetical) patches.
