If Guitare Rig is on a insert way, we must use the dry/wet control of every single rack effect, it would be nice, if there would be an overall Dry/Wet Slider for the overall Main Out of Guitare Rig!

Something like this is currently possible to set up using the Split tools located under Tools in the Component section.

This solution is a pragmatic alternative.

Once you know how to set this up you can make a template to use for all User presets and you can easily make a User preset version of Factory presets that incorporate it.

David Gilmour always has a percentage of un-modulated signal blended in a way that could not be achieved with the adjustments on individual devices.

It is bad for the overview to use too many split tools inside each other at once. I use many split tools for other tasks. Yes, they chance their color, but after 3-4 different split tools I have problems with the workflow. An overall dry/wet control would be handy even it is possible with the split tool.

I get where you are coming from. Your idea would be useful. You do not see an individual slider device on every component in a real world environment. I was thinking you could work out a manageable system by grouping or elimination. I do not use that many components that I would want a slider on. Some are best left to work the way they are designed. I was thinking more along the lines of multiple racks (in concept) and sliding/blending between them to achieve a unique tone/effect.

At least Guitar Rig 5 has exactly that, just open up the Preset Volume component and click on the "+" on the right. There you find sliders for dry, wet and mix. Is this what you meant?

Cannot speak for the OP but this feature is not exactly what I think he meant.

It helps but the implementation is inconvenient at the least.

This would be better if it was up front and accessible as any knob on a component.

The feature is something that would frequently involve a lot of adjustment.

Burying it like this is impractical.

But isn't having a dry/wet slider on an insert effect a bit beside the point?

If I want to use a plugin as parallel processor I put it on an Aux channel, which makes for easier mixing. I think this is generally considered preferable for delay-based effects anyway, and for parallel compression I think having it on a separate bus is infinitely better.

If you want to bring the dry and GR'ed signal back together you could always route the mixer channel outputs to do that.

Who say it is just a insert effect??

I use it often as send effect. But the point of insert effects are a blend between dry and wet. Send effects are ADDING the dry and wet signal if not prefader which is the normal behaviour.

So is there a dry/wet knob or not?

    (Found it)

Some DAWs add their own dry-wet controls to every plugin. Like Reaper :)

I think you gave a helpful response here.

Even if most DAWs do provide a dry/wet signal you get 3 recording options from a pre and post tape deck (before and after input). Also, by clicking on your DAW .VST for GR5 you can set (configure) assign controls for any Dry/wet signals.

This may seem trivial. But, that original recorded unmodified guitar track may become essential later.

    Good Luck!
