    Hi,

When I use a massive x preset with an lfo or other modulation that is set to "sync" and 16th, I expected that this relates to the global host tempo. So, expectation is, I hit a note and if it is not exactly on the beat, the modulation nevertheless is.

But what I hear is actually that the 16th notes depend on the host's tempo, but start kind of relative to the note start. That way they are only in time with global host tempo if I fully quantize the entered notes.

That surprised me. Is that the expected behaviour? How can I get modulation to snap to host's 16th notes instead?

Unfortunately not if it's content from one of our expansion :(
Someone might have the preset though so perhaps share the name here

Yea, no problem, I thought so myself.

It is the "UFO Beats" preset from "Moebius" (love all of the Massive X Expansions, btw).
I have tried to demonstrate it, don't know if I suceeded, lol

a quantized version, just one long held note:

a version where I just tried to hit the note slightly off, which btw isn't as easy as it sounds, haha

So, is my mind playing tricks on me or does this not sound like the modulation is relative to the note start?

Sorry I don't own that expansion so I can't look into that preset specifically, it sounds really off then the LFO start or performer start is midi note triggered, you can set that to aother mode. So in the LFO the sync is maybe set to loopRST but you have to set it to loop only. In the remote oktave area you have to set trigger to remote, and I guess this patch uses the remote oktave to have some variations in the pattern, so try to record some notes on the lowest octave in sync and a bar long and over it you play or record some higher notes.

Uwe303 Yes! That solved it! Set it to loop, but left it at "Midi" instead of remote, even though I could see that there was a performer being active. Tried both, but the desired result only happened if I left it at "midi" on the envelope that did the modulation.

At any rate, Modulation syncing in Massive X seems to be a much more complex topic than I was aware of. Need to do a bit of reading up, so thanks for the reference to the pages in the manual!

Ahh OK - yes the lfos and performers in massive x have great potential, so they are not as easy as other ones. But that exactly makes them great and very useful.
