have been using traktor since february (started on le and more recently moved to pro)

took me a few months to get it up and running but had no problems since then

on saturday though when playing live the program froze!the song didnt freeze and it played out..just the hour glass came up on the screen and wouldnt change..so i just had to re-start the computer then everything worked fine again

playing again this sat and just hoping this doesnt happen again in future

anyone have any special measures they take?

i already run a batch (sp?) file that my pal setup for me, which disables alot of anti-virus and background programs, and also disable wlan..just wondering if anyone has any suggestions

p.s and iw as just playing myself so there was a chorus of BOOOOS for 5 mins!

Dont know if it was same in my case, Traktor wouldn't react to keyboard or mouse but I was able to play the set for 1 more hour till the end using midi controller. It was ver 1,0,2 I think

What type of computer are you using? I have noticed with my Acer that since the battery doesn't hold a charge anymore that it affects the system for some reason. I now run a dual boot system as my laptop has two SATA hard drive bays. I use XP Pro without any virus protection or any open non-essential processes/services and components. I have also disabled the firewire, Lan, Wlan, firewall, etc. I scan for viruses when I am booted to the other hard drive to check my system. Since I have done this I haven't had a lockup while I was running Traktor Pro.

Take a good selection of tracks on CD/vinyl with you. That way you can quickly move to another medium.

It's no different to when needles broke/wore out, right? As long as you're quick to move on, crowd won't mind.

    yeah,

I'm a real belt and braces guy with stuff like this, and even though i use a mac i always take a small wallet of CD's that has enough good tracks to get me through a full night should something unrecoverable happen.

And I always have a CD in the player cued up and ready to go so that if something did go wrong its just fader up and play button with only maybe a few seconds of silence and then while that track plays can restart or fix the issue. Only had to use it once so far and that was a very unusual week never had those issues again.
