After trying unsuccessfully to record my first mix on TS (read here), I tried again yesteday, and just when it seemed it was all working just fne, it crashed.

Problem is, it wasn't a classic crash. It didn't present an error message or quit the program. It just stop responding at 45min into the set, while I was mixing. The decks stopped and all the MIDI mappings were gone, no answers. Clicking on Play/Cue would have no effect either.

Then I thought "well, 45min of a pretty good tech-house set, at least I can send it to a few fellow DJs 'my first ever Traktor mix'". When I listened to the resulting wav file, there were several drops on the audio... its useless!

    FAIL!

p.s.: I'm using 1.2.1. Should I upgrade to 1.2.2? Will I lose any of my settings or library stuff?

You won't loose anything when you upgrade to a newer Traktor Pro version.

Please give us some more information about your system.
OS, PC specs, soundcard, devices attached?

    Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
    Core 2 Duo, 2GB
M-Audio X-Session Pro controller and Fast-Trak Pro interface
    25GB of free disk space

I use a separate Windows account for playing, with nothing loaded, no anti-virus, no network stuff running, etc.

What is your latency set to?

People also report some Windows Vista related issues, but I've personally no experience with it.

Did you try to re-attach the M-Audio X-Session after it didn't respond anymore?

I really don't know. I don't hear any drops or cracks while I'm playing, so I guess my latency is fine.

Not really. But since EVERYTHING stop responding (even mouse clicks), I didn't expect for the MIDI controller to be able to. Even if everything is running perfect, I have to restart Traktor if I have to attach the controller.
