I have a new desktop PC running Windows 10, all windows updates done, and after downloading and installing all the recommended for Maschine MK3 software, reboot and then mouse stops, keyboard stops and then blue screen comes up saying the hard drive cannot be detected. The pc was running fine prior to all the software being installed. As you know, it takes several hours to download all 39 downloads. It runs fine prior to the software being installed. I have installed everything on a laptop and have no issues. I believe there is a file or driver causing an issue. Has anyone heard of this. If you are in the US, feel free to call/text as well. 209.996.8545

google win 10 safe mode and try that. If that works you could be right it is one of the things you installed. If safe mode does not work, it is probably hardware, like indeed your disk or maybe just the disks sata cable.
    Good luck!!!

Vinark, thanks for your reply. I wish I knew who to contact?? NI seems to hide behind the website. I would certainly like to speak with someone that knows of this issue and can give me some direction. Thanks for your tip.

HDD not detected would not be caused by a file or driver, that would surely be a hardware issue. But you need to try the safe mode startup recommended to verify.

Agree, this sounds like a possible looming hardware fault on your PC, with a possible impending hard drive failure.

Blindeddie, thank you for your help. I am going to try safe mode boot today and see what results I come up with. Holidays are done, I will have time to sit down with it. I've seen software/drivers cause all kinds of problems in the 30 years I've used pc's. Thats why I have a hard time ruling out that something in the NI dowloads, wouldn't be the culprit. Such as a driver or exe file, or any other, included in the downloads. I'd like to hear a little more of your reasoning, so I can get my head around this better. I really appreciate your time! Cheers, Happy New Year!

Hello Goon, thanks for helping out! If I have a possible hardware fault, is it possible for windows to run just fine, and do updates for over a couple hours, without a glitch? I'm not being a wiseass, just objective. In my mind, if there is a hardware issue, it would rear it's head right away. Windows won't always label a problem correctly. I'm not ignoring the obvious, but there is a good chance it could be something other than the hard-drive, which is an SSHD. I spoke with a family member that is a computer science graduate. He hasn't been able to come look at it yet, but was throwing out a guess that if I installed a plug-n-play video card, vs using the onboard, may help. Can you give me any other supporting thoughts on your suggestion? Thank you! Happy New Year
