my recordings are prone to clipping

    hi - I'm using Windows 7 and Traktor Scratch Pro as my soundcard to record a dj set with vinyl, as usual

    it's normally ok, but I find some tracks it's really liable to clip. annoying.. the bass doesn't sound like it should be causing them to but inexplicably they will clip. strangely, at other times.. the same track on higher volume of recording with heavier bass and levels sometimes *doesn't* clip - so it made me wonder if it's a glitch.

    any ideas? thanks in advance
