1- Vst and Vsti support (ex: ezdrummer) --- YES!

    2 - impulse Response support ---
Already supported as an add-on to GR4: http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/powered-by-guitar-rig/reflektor/

3- new effect pedals (ex: Electro Harmonix Freeze and morpheus droptune) --- would be nice, but so far Guitar Rig has gotten fairly poor grades IMO for their implementation of pitch-based effects (like the Digitech Whammy simulation). I agree with your sentiment, though, 100%.

4- Fretboard Mapping --- another great idea, but again, see my comment on #3.

5- Flowchart (to visualize and manipulate the connections of the presets and sounds) --- a big YES, and might I add screen size options that allow for larger screen graphics. On a hi def screen, some of the knobs and controls and values are very unwieldy to work with.

    Hi all,

    Here are mines:

1- A software that passed Quality Assurance tests before being released.

2- A software that ships with the advertised features.

3- A software that does not remove capabilities from the previous version (no snapshots, only one loop machine, cannot choose loop machine location freely). Let me do anything (even if it's just plain stupid). I want to be in control as much as if I had the real gear in front of me.

4- A software that has been designed to streamline the creation process. The GUI has started to become painful in GR4 (too many clicks and scrolling going on), I sure hope it will get better soon.

5- Ability to configure one (or lets be crazy all) of the Kontrol Rig button(s) to "shift" to let me control more gear with just one pedal.

I'm aware that that post may appear as a rant. It is not.

I'm happy with GR4, and currently don't have plans to switch to another software.
But I really feels there are stronger issues than "more features needed" to make sure that GR5 is a great software.

Every time I remember its bumpy start (bugs and missing features), I cringe. I didn't use snapshots in GR3, but I understand how this feature could be very useful to some, and therefore I feel it's a loss for everyone.

I like GR4 and get the tones I want out of it , but was the update from GR3 really worth it? GR4 giveth, but GR4 taketh away... so its kinda hard to answer. I hope GR5 is great enough that I won't have to ponder before upgrading.

I'll add 3 more feature wishes (since I put only one):
    - Route left and right inputs to different patches controlled separately.
    - When I overwrite an effect preset ask me if I want to update all my banks to reflect the changes in presets that uses this effect's preset. E.g., if I add bit more room to a Reverb setting I use in various presets, update those presets (and let me know how many presets will be affected so that I don't do something I will regret).
    - Have a "bundle" component, so that I can store a part of a chain as an effect.

They matter much less to me that the first 5 wishes, but it is to be more in line with the first poster who I guess expects features to be listed instead of general QA issues.

Sorry for the long post, I guess I had to take it out of my system. Thanks if you read it through.

    Cheers

I am pretty pleased with the Guitar Rig 4, but I have some wishes for the next version
    (2 years since guitar 4 came now ;) ).

    - 2-3 new distortion boxes, not just new boxes, but unique ones that could be useful
    - 1 new metalamp, a modern powerful and clean metalamp
    - some new cabinets to the controlroom. I want some new powerful early metal cabinets (marshall!) and modern metal cabinets
    - seriously remake the matched cabinet, I think they sound very digital and harsch

"2-3 new unique and useful distortion boxes." Such as? Be specific. Really if you don't know what they are, how is NI supposed to know what you consider useful? Personally I want the Boss HyperFuzz, but just asking for "useful" stomp boxes is not constructive at all.

"1 new metalamp" - like Rammfire?

"new cabinets to the controlroom" - I thought more controlroom amps would follow the initial release. So far nothing. We'll see. Plus see below.

"seriously remake the matched cabinet, I think they sound very digital and harsh" - no way, the matched cabinets are the best cabinets. The control room sounds much harsher in comparison. For some sounds the control room works well, but overall the matched cabs are much better.

i'm still waiting for a pitch shifter pedal (Digitech Whammy simulation) that doesn't suck.

Just buy a whammy pedal and stop whining. Problem solved.

I'd like the guitar to play itself, for all software to be perfect, and
i also want a solid gold toilet.

I dont know names of all good Distortion pedals I have used but I for example found the MetalCore pedal to be extremely good, really many metal/hardcore-bands which I record are using them. Some say "why, they already have the metalzone?", actually I have A/B compared those 2 in a shop and they sound very different in the tone. I think the metalzone-pedal sounds too bright (GOD, EVEN HURT MY EARS!) and weird in guitar rig 4 compared to the real ones (the real one doesnt sound so bright even with "high" maxed out on the pedal)

"1 new metalamp" - like Rammfire?

No the Rammfire kind of sucked (my opinion), I have tried most of it, with matched cab, c room, distortion pedals, compressor, and I didnt like the tone of it, sounds like a modded gratifier.

"new cabinets to the controlroom" - I thought more controlroom amps would follow the initial release. So far nothing. We'll see. Plus see below.

Vintage 1 sounds best in my opinion, the "modern cab" sounds really weird to me.

"seriously remake the matched cabinet, I think they sound very digital and harsh" - no way, the matched cabinets are the best cabinets. The control room sounds much harsher in comparison. For some sounds the control room works well, but overall the matched cabs are much better.[

I totally disagree on this, but perhaps I havent experimented enough with those, so maybe I will give those another chance with some experimenting.

    hwasser,

some of the things you wrote above kind of got me to post, coz otherwise, i really don't WANT anything more, i'd rather whats already there gets fixed and made better. actually, correction, i'd like a rotary speaker, like the fender vibratone.

    1. pedals : you're right, it's not necessary to know the exact names, though it would help if you did, as chico said, if NI is listening, it would help them know what you/we want. i'd really like a saturator. but the scope of a program like GR (or even amplitube/revalver/th2/etc) is that they've modeled enough gear to pretty much give us the ability and flexibility to create any tone we need, which is where using the models in permutation and combination comes into play. take the sledge hammer for example, i've used it a lot, and till today i can't say i know the pedal. there's so much in it which comes out when used with different amps.

    2. when you say you've compared the sound metalzone, what amp did you play it in. i've played the metal zone into a line6 which had tubes from bogner, it blew me to pieces. then i played it into a twin and it sounded like ****. also, GR (and family) model the sound of a mic'ed cabinet. most people say that amp sims don't sound like real amps they model after, ofcourse they don't, that's coz there're not modeling the cabinet sound, they're modeling the sound coming into a mic running into a studio preamp.

    3. rammfire, IMHO, is the best amp NI has ever made. the detail and depth is clearly audible. it probable sounds like a modded gratifier to you coz it is one. gratifier is a mesa boogie dual rectifier, and the rammfire is also mesa dual rectifier with a serial no. pre-500 (very early design). try playing with the settings a little more, i hope you find you tone in it, it really sounds rich to me with good harmonic content and little fizz. and it pretty much nails the rammstien sound for sure. try lepou's "legion" (http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/2010/03/legion.html) it's free, and one of the nicest metal amps i've heard, though i'm no metal player. you'll need to use a cabinet on this though, it's only the amp head. you could use one from GR or download some IRs.

    4. vintage 1 sound like the only one usable to me too. agreed.

    5. to be the matched cabs are the best, it really depends on how you use the dist pedal and preamp to drive it. again, my humble advise is to spend more time with them.

i've written enough. i had no intention on writing on this thread, but i kinda got tempted. have fun.

and NI, don't forget my rotary speaker.

    Ultimate wish list:

Guitar Rig Player (free), with the ability to download stomps, rack effects, processers, amps, speakers, mics, on an "a la carte" basis. Kind of like "pick any 16 items" for $299 US (the same price as GR4 software). Or just pay as you go, no limit to the number of "a la carte" items you can select, only limited by computer power.

I'm a bassist, so my amp choices would be simple and few, but I'd load up on the processors I use most and that are most critical (beyond what is available for free in Player), such as a Multi-band compressor, or a really nice Studio Compressor, a really GOOD and flexible Pitch Pedal, a really nice Ampeg SVT Classic simulation, etc. I'd be happier than a pig in you know what!

The key to this strategy is that the "a la carte" items need to really be 1st class, hands down dead nuts accurate and of excellent functionality and quality. The library of available items would also need to be fairly comprehensive.

Beyond that, bring back a "Snapshot" feature option and come up with a Rig Kontrol pedal with a few more features (more buttons and another expression pedal) and I'm done.

    5. OK, if they can release a pedal I can plug my smartphone in. Would be worthless for me if I could not control it with my feet.

    Cheers

Both Peavey and IK have these apps out now for iphone. they're for practicing mostly. like a pandora's box or a pocket POD. nothing heavy duty, and much less expensive provided you already have a smartphone.
    ---
I would prefer, and suggest, developing for android. no competition yet in that arena for guitar effects, and it has more market share than iOS.

1 cabinet and amp warping is a definate must

2 It would be cool if they would sell yes i said sell, add on effects pedals but they should be of exceptional quality. Just keep every thing they have now as stock with better stomps and amps and cabs that they sell, but that will only be cool if they are way better than what is already offered.

3 i actually wish they would package all the vocal and bass stuff in their own vst but still sell them as a package. I want guitar rig to be a guitar plug. It wouldnt be hard to make a Vocal rig and Bass rig seperately.

4 all in all i really just want the emulations to be worked on to make them the top of the line as far as quality goes.
