Real metal amps for a change.

I dont understand how they can have so many low-mid gain amps and maybe a couple high gain and people just say "Throw a tube screamer on it!" - Or the OLDER crowd that thinks metal heads know nothing about tone or how to get a good guitar sound.

Dont even get me started on Rammfire, they give away a blues amp months before that comes out, for FREE and then us metal heads get the $50 shaft.

Quite frankly, unless NI does some DRASTIC rethinking about how they cater to the high gain crowd; I will be switching my effects to match my live setup. With Line6 products.

I didnt mind giving Line6 $50 for the metal pack. Mostly since they already INCLUDED a great selection of amps I like, but also because they give me 10+ more for $50.

Are you reading this NI? It's not the 1970s any more, the next generation of guitarists want to use your software, but we're not willing to take the shaft.

The biggest problem i suffer from is using a dual monitor computer. id like to be able to have guitar rig covering one entire screen and my other currently opened projects on the other screen. such as if i were to run into a problem with guitar rig i just simply head straight to the forum. plus running at a different resolution would be nice even on a singular monitor. the COOLEST thing they could do is have the "live" view on one screen and the regular menus on the other. that would be the coolest thing for me.

How about a crazy idea like offering a fully re-sizable window? And let the user size the various panes themselves?

I'm not a metal head but I have to scratch my head reading about the lack of high-gain amps. 1st - all of the model amps have way more top-end gain than their real world counterparts. 2nd - Yes, you can add a transparent gain booster to any amp. 3rd - Many guitarists have some sort of boutique-y amp they would like modeled but you do realize that there are really only 4 or 5 truly distinct tube amplifier designs right? Between the models offered, additional pre-amp gain options available (pedal boost, OD or distortion) and 'expert' adjustments (going form SS to tube rectifier modeling, for example) and all of the cabinet modeling options (ever try resizing a 4x12 way up?) - GR4 covers the bases pretty well.

But then, if you aren't happy with what you're hearing no amount of explaining will help.

Frankly, I'm a little concerned about the long-term plans for GR from NI - I'm glad they released Rammfire (not my cuppa) and Reflektor (nice for trying 3rd party cabinet IRs).

I rather like Rig Kontrol 3 *except* - I'd like to see a tuner & patch name display - and a tempo light for visual feedback of the current tempo. I'd buy an RK4 if it had that.

I'm definitely loving GR4 so far, being pretty new to this I haven't run out of tones to explore, but I think the GUI could use some major tweaks / additions.

I appreciate that it's going for a graphical representation of real-world hardware, but it gets very inefficient when stacking loads of components.

Someone mentioned getting the GUI more widescreen friendly - I couldn't agree more. I think it's essential.

I also wish each component could, in addition to the current graphics, be alternatively (expert?) represented with focus on getting every control as well laid out as possible in a smaller overall area, and stacked both vertically and horizontally. A process-tree hierarchy with nodes and 'noodles' like compositing software (Nuke, Shake, Flame) would be my number one choice for that.

Nodes would be a component, and they would be patched together by the noodles.

When a node is double-clicked, its controls would appear in an adjacent area. Multiple nodes could be 'activated' to allow groups of components to be worked on without having to constantly click from one node to another.

Thanks for the great software, I'm hooked!

    Parametrization

Have at least four Dials (like the ones you see on your favorite stombox) built into the Guitar Rig controller. Four dials has always seem to work well for stomboxes and that would be just enough without being cumbersome. Four dials midi programable to any perameter.

I have been a loyal GR2/3/4 customer but the GR 4 debacle made me a AT3 user.

If AT4 has free internal routing and once the stealth board is released, i am never going back to GR X.

My poor RK became a fancy looking dust collector :(

Guitar players are clearly out of NI's focus.

Guitar Rig 5 and rig Kontrol 5 dream

1- The best of NI Guitar Rig, Fractal Audio Axe Fx and Line 6 m13

2- a better algorithm of Whammy effect (more real and fast)

3- harmonizer up to 5 voices like Eventide or Digitech Studio 5000,Dhp55, ips33,gsp2101 ecc..

4-add routing path like Fractal Audio Axe Fx or Tc electronic G Force.

5-multi ins (4ins) support to connect different guitars (normal or normal +piezo guitars like Parker,Music Man J.Petrucci guitars) and stereo send/return applications.

6-multi outs (6 outs) support to address signal routing to different outs (example: Master Left Right 1 e 2 to stereo amp, Line Left Right 3 e 4 with Cabinet Emulator to P.A. mixer, Aux outs 4 e 5 to send guitar piezo signal or send/return application.

7-a new Rig Kontrol with USB 3.0/2.0 support (very low latency),a better midi implementations and programming, more switch (up to 20), 3 programmable potentiometers per switch(endless encoder), a large data display (example Liquid Foot Pro, Fractal Audio MFC-101), 2 expression pedal with switch below, Variax input, 4 inputs and 6 outputs balanced with a very low background noise (example send/return application: send the signal in the input amp with low noise to avoid the very bad breath and noise that the distortion of the amp adds to the signal)

    8-variax support

9-Head amps simulation with 3 or 4 channels :clean, crunch, lead 1 and lead 2 with separate EQ (Marshall JVM 410)

Just saw the Komplete 8 "commercial" on YouTube showing Guitar Rig 5. Are they serious? Two new amps and 6 new effects? That's it? You gotta be kidding me.

just about everything that was added was also requested on this forum. 2 hi-gain amps, better reverbs, container, and what appears to be a harmonizer. It may take a while, but NI listens. Some of these requests go back a few years.

Ok new wishes. First of all:
more 3d sounding amps, they start to sound a bit flat comparing to the competition.

(head) A new bass amp with inbuilt overdrive (which can be switched off), the one in amplitube 3 sound really nice.

(head) Engl Fireball 100 (!) (the one in softube metal room sound amazing!)

    (pedal) harmonix electronics metal muff

Saw that guitar rig 5 is already out:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/products/producer/guitar-rig-5-pro/?page=2508

.. the old stuffs doesnt seem to have been updated at all, even the same graphic.

2 new high gain amps, 1 vintage reverb, 1 reflector lite (without the ability to load your own IRs). A new control room pro. That's it. (and also the rammfire isnt included). Im not spending

The 2 new amps seems nice, and the the control room pro, but I rather spend it on some amps for Amplitube 3 this time. Guitar rig 4 sounds a bit flat now that newer thing have come, and the fact that they dont care about that and releasing the same flat amps again shows that they doesnt care. Bye bye guitar rig

    I'd rate GR5 a "meh" over GR4.

Looks more like GR4.3 than GR5...

I was waiting for the container though... I might update when the update will be on sales, otherwise I do feel ripped off.
And since GR4 was so buggy for the first months, it's a good thing that I don't feel compelled to update.

Morpheus Drop Tune effect! This is something that GR is really missing.

I would also appreciate a ENGL Powerball like amp simulation. With the Marshals there is all kind of minor tweaking, but what about really new amp-simulations?
