I must admit I'm finding this almost comical, you would think in its present form Traktor was unusable and unable to deliver a dj set to a dance floor. Even if the present software stood still for a further 2 years I'd be perfectly happy with it. Yes Serato has this and RB has that but it also works the other way round Traktor has many features that they don't and probably won't have in a few years time. As the Rolling Stones once said................ "You can't always get what you want.....

    Thanks.

I don't actually think I've ever said that.
People often ask me "is anything coming out" and I always say "yes", because there always is something on the way it's just been a long time between products this time... too long.
One thing that I have never done is that pathetic hint game that people do with other companies - I've never once said anything such as "i know what's coming and it's great" I'm simply not allowed to do so and it's poor form anyway. I'll leave that to other forums and Facebook groups.

    Yes, why not.
Nintendo were being kicked to the curb by all the others until they released the Switch which is now the fastest selling console ever.
Pioneer have done a great job of aping Traktor Pro & Serato DJ, they've added some cool functionality especially in the browser but what have they actually developed that is new and their own? Whether you like STEMS and Remix decks or not is irrelevant, NI are inventive.

You know that will never happen.

    Time will prove you wrong.

    It's all good. It's like a sport around here.:D

I'd be happy to stay with 2.6.8, except that the clubs that I work in have upgraded all of the players to CDJ-2000NXS2 ...

If only there was a way to inject the HID profile into the older versions of the software ... Now that would be something useful ...

Homer Simpson's car design was inventive.

Yeah right.. Traktor 2.11.99.874? A few bug fixes ain't a real software update!

Also I agree on the above, they should release new controllers. Ideally a X1&F1 hybrid. Like a smaller D2 without the screen that can actually fit in a busy booth.

You're asking for progress and this is your idea of how to achieve it?

Why? What's wrong with that? I think the X1 is the best controller for Traktor. It fits perfectly between CDJs and a mixer. I think it would be nice if Native Instruments will come out with a never version.. After almost 5 years from the MK2 is about time!

Out of curiosity, what's your Idea of progress on the controller side? If you Dj in a club before you know that the 2 xD2 are almost impossible to fit..

That really depends on the club. I managed to squeeze in quite a lot of stuff back when I had my residency.

I do agree that the X1 is cool and might need an update.
I'm just not sure about the F1 part, especially since quite a few people here and elsewhere seem to moan about the general direction of NI since the F1 (and the relevance of Remix Decks and Stems).

If I had to pick one new controller to be released by NI, that totally would be a modular jog wheel controller (not the most progressive approach, I know).
The biggest potential lies within the software and could to some degree be controlled with the current hardware, though.
See https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/namm-2018-traktor-pro-3.324546/page-5#post-1618311 for a full list of ideas...

Even though you're obviously not allowed to say anything this says enough to assure me the development of Traktor isn't dead even after being dormant for a long time :) Now it'll just require some patience until the next update comes out.

Nice picture man. Here in Japan booths are always a tight squeeze. 1200s, 2000s, DJM 900 and good luck if you anything bigger than an X1))) That said today I went to my local DJ shop to buy a cable(yeah right) and I saw D2s running for 300$ each

I was really tempted but then I reminded myself that it will be like having a really big nice car that you can't take out for a ride.. Besides, until I see Traktor 3 NI is not seeing a dime from me;)

How are waveform on the screens? When I had them they were really choppy and jerky.. Maybe it was my computer!

    Thanks man!

Tbh they weren't exactly able to fit in on that photo, had to have half the unit hanging off the edge of the table!

Waveforms were super jerky, no longer use the D2s anyway due to the USBs in them breaking and no longer accepting signal!

I've mapped an SP1 to do the same basic things as then, like FX, cue points & beat jumping... Just wish you didn't have to have 2 of the D2s to use A & B!!

Totally. I wonder why they don't allow A/B & C/D on the same unit..

    The answer is revenue :)
But what's even more odd is that they don't allow 4 D2's.
Maybe it's not about revenue, after all?

Waveforms do work as good (or bad?) as on any CDJ for me - and I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro, not exactly a performance beast...
