    1. Using VoiceOver to click: (User Account >Preferences >File Locations) - yields one unlabeled button which appears to return me to the start-screen, and a 'Confirm' button which does nothing. I cannot set locations for where files should be stored.
    2. Using VoiceOver to click: (Installed Products) - yields no list of installed products to VoiceOver users.

    MacBook Air 2015. 11In, 256 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, Core I7 2.2 GHZ, El Capitan V10.11.6.

    Hi Andre,

many thanks for taking the time to start this thread and report your observations!
I can confirm both issues on my Mac using VoiceOver, it is impossible to accessibly change file locations and to view a list of installed products.

    Best wishes,
    Robin

I was recently installing Komplete 11 and noticed the same issue in the latest version of Native Access software.

    Hi all,

we know Native Access is not 100% Accessible, it's on the roadmap to improve this. It's not planned for immediately, sorry for that. Keep an eye on the release notes...

Bram, are there any work-arounds for those of us who depend on being able to install into different locations? The issue has been reported nearly four months ago.
    Thanks for your consideration.

Bram: If accessibility is not high in your list of priorities at this time, can you at least address the fact that entering third-party serial numbers simply does not work, and lies to the user? It says the product is activated, but as I can attest to, after much frustration, registering a non-Native Instruments library simply fails.
It claims to work and does not. My current issue is with the Soniccouture 'The Conservatoire' collection, which I registered in Native Access. Any time I paste the serial in, it says it's registered, and yet still continues to run in 15-minute mode.
Since as visually impaired customers we 100% cannot use Service Center, Native Access is our only way of working with libraries in a meaningful way.
For you to say that accessibility is low on your priority list is quite frankly detrimental to a very fast-growing sect of your users.

Though I understand other things must come first, do kindly let us know a vague ETA of possible fixes.
I am currently facing what should be a very unnecessary prospect of having someone remote into my Mac to help me register a library, because I physically am unable to do this myself.

Thank you for your understanding regarding this difficult matter.

Hi Victor, no currently there are no real workarounds. You will have to ask someone help to set those directories. Sorry!

Hi Andre, actually Native Access does not activate 3rd party libraries right now. You still have to use Service Centre for this or add them directly to Kontakt.

I would suggest you either get some help from someone or call NI support for now until the accessibility issues are fixed and 3rd party support enabled.

    Hi Bram.
I understand this is a regression and the features used to work before. Does this not raise the priority of the issue? I realize that you guys may be strapped on resources, however, please understand that we paid the money into the product and we would like at least the minimum accessibility we were made to believe we would get.

    Hi Bram.
I am not sure if you are familiar with this document, but if not, the page may be useful when developing accessible QT widget (as Native Access app seems to be written using this technology): http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/accessible.html

    Thanks for your ongoing support.

I just want to add a voice to this thread. As a totally blind new Komplete Kontrol user, this is frustrating. Some of us don't have ready access to a sighted person to ask for assistance and if this product did work before and is broken now, then it clearly can be fixed. Based on the link that Victor posted, accessibility to this shouldn't be a big overhaul. A lot of blind people have bought Komplete Kontrol because of the text to speech features and the access we get to products we have long sought after but couldn't buy due to lack of access. It's disheartening to see things sliding backwards and makes me wonder if I made a poor decision to buy into this system. Personally, I spent over $1000 to upgrade my MacBook to make this work in addition to the $1800 for the Komplete s88 and Komplete 10 ultimate, then upgrading to 11 ultimate because of the access we have. I appreciate so much what Native Instruments has made available to us. The foundation is in place and the hard part is done. Please, don't put this off too long, because as much as I love access to this fantastic library, needing to track down sighted help to add libraries, register things, and do basic tasks undermines my ability to create. If my post does nothing else, let it be another voice to add to the choir. A lot of blind people, more than what you see posting, are buying this product and other libraries that can link into this product because of the access we now have. Please don't leave us hanging.

I'd also like to add my disappointment with Native Access. I just purchased the Komplete 11 Ultimate upgrade, and it seems I'm given no choice but to use Native Access to download the individual installation files. I am encountering all of the already stated issues regarding no list for installed libraries and no real feedback in the add serial dialogue.
After very inconveniently connecting to someone remotely, I was able to set the download and content locations to an external drive with plenty of free space. no matter what I do, I'm getting an installation failure, stating that there is no room on volume "/"...
I should also add, without sighted assistance, I would have had no idea of the installation failure dialogue, as it did not appear to Voice over... It appears this program is not only trouble for VI users, it is just trouble all around...
Love Komplete Kontrol though. I'd certainly love to see a little more development on Native Access if this is what we are going to have to use...

    Hi Bram.
Wanted to bump up this thread a bit as there were no updates for quite a while here.
In the latest version of Native Access, the "file locations" dialog is still not accessible and, in general, very little has been done to revamp the accessible UI.
Can you please tell us if any updates / improvements are i the works?

    Thanks.
    Victor

    Hi,

Just thought I’d also add my perspective here as a new Komplete user: firstly, I would just confirm that all the accessibility bugs currently reported are still an issue with respect to Voiceover. However, as an alternate solution, I was curious to know whether the commands being executed via the Native Access GUI have, or could be modified to have, CLI triggers? For example, to add a new library to Native Access a command line instance of the app could be invoked with a string like:

Native Access.app —AddLibrary -serial <insert-product-serial-here> -file path /volume/where/the/library/is/found

Which with a username and password already stored in system info, should be all that is required for Native Access to validate the serial and store the file-path to the library. Just a thought at least.

    Cheers
