    Dears,

I recently purchased Komplete 12 UCE. I downloaded and installed Native Access successfully. I noticed that the button next each product is labelled as "INSTALL". So, I assumed that it will both download and install the product at the same time.

    My question is ...

Is there any way to download all my products first and install them later?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.

This means that I will install only the products that are necessary for my current project and leave the rest on NI's servers. How stable are NI's servers? .. I purchased a monstrous bundle such as UCE, so NI should include the option of downloading the entire bundle in case if their servers crash and install them later. What if my next project needs Symphony series and all of a sudden you can't download them because of some server error?

In other words, you purchased a bundle and you're literally still keeping them on NI's cloud.

Also, it isn't practical to install all of the products at once. There should be some way to download the source files and install them later.

Well, if you're a little tech savy you can make this happen by changing the download location and then messing with the user access credentials, but in the end I wouldn't bother.

Then you should probably have prepared yourself a little better.

I mean... if time is so crucial I'd rather rely on local (and off-site) backups than having an option to download something. Still... your mileage may vary of course.

    (edit)

You don't have to install them all at once. Just click on 'install' for those products you want and then leave the rest as-is. The install-all is simply for convenience because it can get tedious having to click install dozens of times. But still, it works. You can even queue installations; once you clicked several items then the installation will happen in sequence, which can be quite useful.

Yes, I agree. Native Access is an intelligent downloader that organizes your downloads and your installation paths.

However, installation paths is not my main concern in this thread. I need to download and install later, that's my current concern. NI should provide a way for offline installation. And it's not only about NI servers, it's also about any problem at my end such as ISP internet issues or my wifi router isn't functioning as expected. Whatever a technical reason, there should be an offline installation. This is very critical. Let's not forget that we're dealing with technology here that is susceptible to go down at any moment.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

When you purchase, UCE, you are given the option of either Downloading, or being sent a Boxed version (installers come on a removable hard drive).

I have never had any issues downloading,
Their servers seem quite stable and am sure that there is redundancy in case of server crashes as that is pretty much the norm these days...

If you purchased directly from NI, you could enquire about switching the order to the “Boxed” version.

Well, to be honest, I am not going to pay extra cash for the boxed version to just do offline installation. Plus, the real benefit of the boxed version is the included drive. I already have a 2TB SSD and 4 TB HDD. So, in that case I would pay extra for just offline installation because NI doesn't have the option of offline installation. LOL

Honestly, most people are satisfied with cloud computing and overlooking catastrophic events that may happen anytime. Take China now as an example, the country is in aggressive decline. Streets are empty and companies are closed. Can you tell me what will happen to your purchased bundle if NI closes? ...

I am not seeing any price difference in price between the DL or Boxed versions... and the drive they come on is not intended to be used as another Hard drive so that is not an additional benefit.

And you could come up with a multitude of Worst Case scenarios. If the world was Ending, pretty sure the last thing on my mind would be “How can I live without my NI Downloads”. :p

    Just saying!!!

Not sure how can this be done technically. I am using my created account to login to NA. How would I mess with credentials if I have only one credential that my bundle is attached to?

    Not following here.

Again, off-site backups would be beneficial only if I have downloaded all products to a backup drive and install them later. How would you create an offsite backup for products located on the cloud?

    (edit)

You know what! NI could simply include a large basic button on the top that says " INSTALL ALL" to save you from installating dozens of time.

I said install at once because it does seem the only option I got to have all my products offsite.

Good point, my bad. Haven't checked that well enough. Truth is, seeing SF's Albion One can be delivered on a hard drive for 99$ made me assume that all VST and plugins vendors think the same. It's really nice of NI to include a hard drive for free.

No, not the end of the world but only an end of a single country.

There are several ways to "capture" the Installers before they are automatically deleted after install. The process I use is to Install one product at a time. and when the downloading Completes and NA says "installing", copy the file that is found in the "Download Location" specified in NA and paste it to a backup location. Not the most optimal way, but it works... Do note, that for installation, Internet Access is required for activation regardless of whether it is a Download or local copy, so if The NI Servers were to disappear (due to catastrophic failure, End of a country or end of the world) you would not be able to activate it for use anyway.

Things will just continue working as always. And if you make sure to use a solid backup strategy it can even survive a computer change.

The real pain is that when it updates softwares it automatically installs all the NI drivers. I would have the possibility to download and manually install just to avoid Traktor updates to install every single driver for all of the NI devices that I really don't need. I just need Z2 drivers, automatic updates forces me to install at least 10 drivers that I manually have to uninstall one by one then

Has anyone figured a way to download software from NA without automatic install? I'm on a small data plan at my studio and don't want to use it all up just to install this software. What I would like to do is download the installers at home, where I have unlimited data, and then come back to my studio to install. Is there any way? Oh, and I bought this license from someone, not from Native, so don't think there is a way to get a boxed version. Thanks, all!

Hi there. So this makes a lot of sense, and I tried it, just like you said....downloaded the installer from NI, then when I saw the hard drive icon on my desktop, I copied the downloaded install to another drive. I then took that drive to my studio and tried to install. Unfortunately though, I'm now getting the message the digital signature is invalid. Grrrrr.....What gives?

Did you have native access open when you tried to install? There my be some sort of online verification process... or, doing it the way I suggested only works if the install is done on the same computer. I will test this out here later to see what result I get!
