Running Sierra. I've downloaded/installed/removed Native Access probably 20 times now with no success. I launch NA, the lightbox comes up and should move through the update progress bar and then do as it says, which is it'll restart automatically when the download is finished. But, for me, it never moves through the progress bar... except 1 time, and then it just relaunced back in to the same thing and stalled at zero. This is absolutely mind numbingly annoying.

There's zero support I've found on this issue that actually solves this. Most everyone's similar issue is for windows. So, what on earth could this be? I'm stuck with a very expensive piece of software that I cannot use. Native Access simply will not install on my machine os x 10.13x.

    I appreciate any assistance.

    Hi Matt,
Not so good. I've done everything possible. From correctly uninstalling and reinstalling 20+ times, to what few "solutions" have been offered in the forum. Nothing works for me. Every time it's the same. The Native Access installs itself, runs through the couple prompts for needing an internet connection etc till it gets to the - searching for the latest update / Native Access will restart automatically when the download is finished - . It just sits on zero - Please wait. No clue why or how to get it to work. I've spent many hours on this spread across 3 days now with zero advancement in solving this issue.

    Hey,
Did you post a request in our community? From what I get this can come from different settings on your system and so you probably should fill a request right away so one of our agents can assist you with this.

I, too, have this problem (see attached screenshot, no progress in update window) with my new system (Win 10 pro) and I opened a ticket with NI support (so far no response).
I, too, spent several days trying to figure it out, to no avail.

    What I did:
    * ran all available Windows updates
    * ran install as administrator
    * ran the app as administrator
    * tried running the app in compatibility mode win 7 and 8
    * used the windows system integrity tool (found and repaired 1 file, no improvement though)
    * made an exception from windows antivirus for the whole native instruments folder
    * made an exception from windows firewall for Native Access

And yes, everything else works just fine. All other software registration routines (Steinberg, VSL..) were no problem.

All people that I found on the web having this problem (and they're many) seem to be running Windows 10.

Okay guys. I figured it out. Well, sort of. I did a bunch of things, and one of them worked out.

    1. I installed a firewall exception rule MANUALLY in the advanced options for Native Access where I stated in- AND outgoing traffic to be ignored by the firewall.
    2. I installed mainboard component drivers (not the ones Win10 provides, but the ones from the manufacturer website, in my case ASUS): chipset, sata, GPU and audio.
    3. I completely deactivated the windows antivirus safeguard thingamabob. I had previously configured it to ignore the directories used by NI apps, but maybe that hadn't been enough.
My guess is that it's 3. But hey, who knows. Customer support hasn't contacted me yet, which I have to say is disappointing since 36 hours have gone by. Anyway - thanks to all colleagues here on the forum for their experience which I could build my research upon.

Fresh Windows 10 install, just installed Native Access and I have the same issue.

It still runs on the computer i'm migrating from so its not my network issue.

Windows 10 - the same problem.
But I solved it by going to Windows Defender and adding Native Access to tle list of apps communicating through Windows Defender.
After restarting the system it worked.

    Same issue :(

Adding allow rules to Windows Defender and firewall did not help.

I was able to fix the issue:

    1) Open Firewall & network protection
    2) Advanced settings
    3) On left panel, click "Inbound Rules"
    4) On right panel, click "New Rule..."
    5) Choose "Program" as Rule Type
    6) Provide path to "Native Access.exe" (mine was here: "C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Native Access\Native Access.exe")
    7) Under next page, say "Allow the connection"
    8) I restarted my computer

This allows the program to download whatever assets it needs to update. FYI I had to restart my computer after the list above, but then the Native Access opened right up.

FYI v2: None of the steps provided by NI worked for me in the following: https://support.native-instruments....k-on-Startup-Searching-for-the-latest-update-

FYI v3: Native Instruments tell your devs to fix this issue it's ridiculous

I've tried everything under the sun. Native's suggested fixes, credential manager, install/run as admin, firewall rules, reboots, uninstall, reinstall, and it all made no difference. I disabled the firewall all together and no difference. It shouldn't be this difficult to update software on a modern PC. I'd love to try this software out but it says a lot about a company when you can't even demo the software. It's not like I'm even close to the only person with this problem. How can Native Instruments expect us to buy their products when the free products can't do something as simple as an update?

This worked for me! Thank you man. Super dumb that you have to do this for a 150 dollar vst but glad it worked.

I had to turn off all my firewalls. I searched "windows security" after hitting the windows key and disabled all my firewalls. I feel very insecure right now. But I was able to log in, and actually download the Plugins. Turning off all firewalls is the only way I got this program to run. /// Windows 10 / 64bit / version 1909

    Hi Guys,
i had the same problem but i found a way to get it work on my system (win10 pro 64 bit newest update).
After trying everything, i startet the "Native Access.exe" and the "Native Access Updater.exe" manually. Then it worked. I think that was the problem.

But I've done some things before, that may have affected it:
-allways start the programs as admin
-i tryed the kompatibility mode Win 7 for Native Access.exe
-i created firewall rules for both "Native Access.exe" and "Native Access Updater.exe"
-and all other things that were adviced in this thread

    I hope it helps.

Solution here to help for others stuck on this like I was - I had the same issue. Given this has clearly been happening for a long while, at least 2 years it seems, it appears the NI tech dept are bloody useless/lazy/don't care or whatever, which is a real shame as it's really off-putting for what seems to be a brilliant home studio product (although not able to run it yet to find out!!). The solutions on their help page are rubbish and it has been down to wonderful and bright people on forums to solve it and pass on solutions to others, which is truly disgraceful from NI not doing it themselves. Here was my solution so as to maybe help others (as NI can't be bothered to help properly):
I have latest win 10. Native Access locked on opening with 'looking for update page'
I saw a post about how to solve this:
    1) run Native access - locks - open task manager - right click on native access - click properties - click compatibility tab. chack box in compatibility mode and selected windows 7. hit ok and then close native access with end task. Then reopen native access (I did also see a post about downloading a latest x64 microsoft visual C++ file from microsoft support, which I did, but have lost link now, from doing the reboot needed, but not sure if this solved anything or is needed, but if this fix I listed doesn't work for you then search it up, it's on this forum somewhere)
    2) This then got me past the locking update page to the login screen this time ...but then the log in button won't work (facepalm moment again) but this following process worked for me on this post
    https://support.native-instruments....Native-Access-Login-Button-Not-Working-en-us-
you need to download notepad++ as well (easy to do) and it finally worked!!
It begs the question why the hell are we still having this problem???? Don't they field test their native access software?? It seems 100s of people if not more are having this problem and the NI support is useless.
If someone from NI reads this ....pull your bloody socks up guys, you are wasting many hours for people just trying to start up because of your stupid and very poor Native Access set up. This must be losing you customers???

I have now tried everything in this thread over the past 3 days and still stuck at 0% searching for updaets. I installed this on another machine a couple of weeks ago with zero issues but this is a new machine with clean installs and it is failing. Win 10 Pro x64. WTF?

UPDATE: Out of shear frustration I decided to try Safe Mode with Networking again and it worked this time. So with some combination of the plethora of items above it now works.
