Native Access won’t open on Windows 10

Hey guys, I’m having an issue getting Native Access to open up. It will download and install, but when I try and open it, it shows the program running in the bottom right, but then the icon disappears and nothing happens. If I open it offline, the program opens, I connect to Internet, and it starts to update, but immediately shuts down.

I had NA working just fine in March with no issues, so I’m at a loss at what it could be. Any help is appreciated.

I had to uninstall, then reinstall with run as admin on installer, then i launch the app as admin and saved that option as default. Windows 10 a bit quirky after last few updates. On one box upgraded from win7 to win10, nothing worked right and clean install of win10 was only permanent fix.

I can't open Native Access on Windows 10, either. I'm getting the "download failed" message that has also been an issue in the past, even after uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version.

Installing and running Native Access as admin didn't work for me, either.

I had major problems with access on windows 10 earlier in year, in the end NI support linked me to a version of access and gave me instructions to never update it. I have never allowed that version to update and its been fine ever since I did provide NI with crash logs and the files they requested to diagnose this issue but we got there in the end

Not in my case. I did all Windows updates and it still hangs at 0%. Maybe you did something else, too?

I'm currently having this issue too. Just built a new computer. Fresh install. All my other software and plugins installed and work just fine.
I either get stuck on the updating page, or if I manage to get into the login page: nothing happens when I click login. Everything else works.

Yes. I uninstalled, cleared REG, re-installed, and nothing. Even tried various hacks that worked for other people. Nothing seems to be able to get NA working.
    EDIT:
    This worked for me

    Hi everyyone,
It clearly seems the NA team went far upon his skills "creating" Native Access... Never seen so much issues messages all around the web for 20 years : ) The funiest is the "support" always asks poor users to: - delete and replace DLLs - change graphic and/or audio card settings - uninstall and re-install this and that - and many more... I guess these guys have set many computers out of use : ) The strangest is many audio softs producers have trusted them and now have to manage all this through their own support (I'm now trying to fix with Big Fish who do all they can : ) Good luck everyone : ) Yvon BODY

    Moin,
a newbie here, I have the same problem.
had a comparable problem under Win7 pro 32Bit and issued a request, that was quickly answered by NI-support, telling me to install an old NA version - 1.51 as I remember - and add an entr to the registry - which I unfortunately forgot :-(.
Last week I upgraded to Win 10 pro by clean install (32 Bit again for certain reasons, some having to do with 32 Bit VSTs in other software). I prefer clean install, as I have all my Software as Installation files and used the upgrade to make Windows things tidy.
Everything else went fine, but installing latest version of NA from the website funnily seeks for even newer releases, loads them, promises to start automatically after the upgrade, and never returns. Icon is in tray, but disappears as soon as the mouse pointer is over it. Windows event logging shows an application error of NativeAccess.exe, Version 1.12.1.129 and names c:\windows\system32\ntdll.dll as the erroneous module...
I went through the NI help thread, resulting in my system being OK and up to date. So I again issued a request a few days ago, containing a screenshot of the error message in windows event logger. This request has been responded automtically, but not been answered substantially yet.
Being in a sort of "pressure" as musician, I asked NI to remind me of the registry fix in order to try the Win7-32 solution, but did not get an answer yet.
A few years ago I used to make my living by programming software and know that it is hard to check everything on every target harware. But at least some comfortable (i.e. user controllable) possibility to prevent automatic updates of NA would be very appreciated...

I will keep You informed, if there is a solution

I'm having the same issue. Download window hung. I killed it. NI Access icon doesn't do anything.
    [Edit: Now working after reboot]

Do you start NA as admin?

    Moin,
intentionally I wanted to wait until my issue was fixed, but as this thread is updated, I will give an in-between-state:
After a few days NI kindly replied to my request and sent me a program to investigate my system.
Although suspicious by nature and experience (my computer-related past...) I started it and accepted it to crawl my hardware, operating system, registry, installed software, etc. in order to get things cleared.
I sent the results back to NI and now am waiting in suspense for the answers and things to come.
In any case i will keep You informed.

    Moin,
promised to come back with results, if any.
NI support was formally OK, nothing to complain about that. They suspect my video subsystem being outdated. This may even be the case, but nevertheless does not satisfy me:
My tried and trusted "road-and live-computer" is definitely capable of running Windows 10 (actual release, all updates) and performing openGL 2.1 (completely plus some features of higher releases), which is stated by NI as the only requirements for running native access. No other software (Ableton, M-Audio/in-music stuff, lots of VSTs and some "normal" Software used on the road for business and fun) has problems, just NA still behaves like described above. I will (have to) live with that...
