Native Instruments DAW

If NI would come with a real killer-DAW (espacilly with gui/ergonomic/til-the-end-tought/happy workflow-features), yes, yes, yes, but if it is just another DAW with lots of unnesccarry mousclicks, nerved extrascrolls, deep menu-hiddin-basic-features... and lot of office-work to handle this, no, no, no.

for maschine i wish only a better seqeuncer (for itself), escpailly with better edit-area (with shortys/alternate mousemodi), with midi-fx (own and 3rt party, e.g. from reaktor) and things like scale-correction, remap of pads, chord-memory, copy/paste of envelops...
things that i can make the layout (the .wav-files) completly in maschine and than export to daw of my choice. maybe from NI?

 

I'd love to see this too, I don't use Maschine but from what I have heard it's not too far away. I love Logic but getting tired of it, I want to try something fresh and what's in the market today doesnt appeal to me.

 

Maschine is a horrific platform to become a DAW. It would be an epic fail. Don't just not count on it, pray they never try.

 

I think if NI does want to develop a DAW, it should be done entirely outside the Maschine product line. Maybe a standalone product or part of the Komplete series. But I agree, leave Maschine as a groovebox sequencer and don't bloat it into something it shouldn't be. Not to mention there are tons of good DAWs on the market now it would be foolish for NI to think they could immediately bite into that competition.

 

Given the current beef of their MASCHINE / KOMPLETE KONTROL development resources, it might take them a bunch of decades to realize something like that. I wonder if you are willing to wait until then...

Of course this is based on what I perceive as a user – they could always start to [ hire more people / reassign and train their developers / buy other companies to ] change that, if they ever wanted to.

 

They are not even allowing us to use Maschine hardware with Komplete Kontrol software.
Considering that, they will probably keep Maschine crippled as it is now,
and if they finally decide to release a DAW you can be sure it will requires a new dedicated hardware.

 

This. Please don't waste resources on this. Get people who are able to fix bugs. Maschine is the buggiest piece of software i own. And if you look at the price, it's even more frustrating. I can't even imagine, what kind of big §$%%§% buggy mess they would create.

 

Traktor and Maschine should just play nice, like Ableton-Link style syncing without bugs and without any maneuvering on the part of the user.

Additionally, if they just implemented Link in both Traktor and Maschine, we wouldn't need a DAW from NI. We would just sync with an already awesome DAW, which would open doors for live performance and production.

 

There's no Link SDK available for anything other than iOS

But do they now take the Link SDK and run with it, or do they already have their own NI-specific protocol they are working on?

OR better yet - are they just going to convert the "sample decks" into "maschine decks" next?

My S8 would love to canoodle directly with my Maschine MK2 and Jam...
