The devs are hard at work I'm sure baking in all our hearts desires. I suspect we will be hearing something really soon on Maschine. I can feel it. :D

Ah,...you may be right..I hadn't even considered Musikmesse. Good point. I know Propellerhead is making a huge announcement at Musikmesse...I guess they say it's going to be "exciting news for music makers everywhere" I'm guessing it's some sort of plugin support.

NI don't do trade shows. Not to say they won't try and upstage it though.

Feverish dreams of upgrades on high!

Feverish dreams og coming upgrades, I'm wondering if it really is so productive to wait with baited breath a pack of wolves around the prey, Hold your breath is the upgrade coming is it? is it? Got to get lost in something but maybe all this waiting for upgrades is eating up creative energies, clouding the judgment, a big waste of time?.. Apparently NI releases things when they are good and ready and after software has had periods of both private and public beta testing.

Save energy, stop worrying and spend the energy getting your music into shape!

Thanks for joining the conversation. :D Just food for thought...with Musikmesse coming up the topic seems appropriate. I'm not at all waiting with baited breath and please keep in mind that "creative energies" need time to recharge. If we were constantly creating music where would we find time to take a shower, eat dinner, or post in the Maschine forums :D ....there is an appropriate time and place for everything son.

You are right about the time and place for everything. I'm just getting over burdened with the waiting game for gear updates.

I'm presently watching three or four lines of update impatience:

    Next Imac update/hardware

    Next mac mini udate/hardware

    Next Maschine software update/software

    Next camera upgrade/hardware

    Next lens upgrade/hardware

    Software upgrades on plug ins

    Software upgrades on hosts..

I'm starting to get the impression that the pace of innovation is slowing to a crawl on a lot of fronts... Face it, they are all just not selling enough units to fire development, it's more like everyone is scrambling to keep afloat while they once in awhile throw out a bone to the wolf pack.

I'm actually not a big update stalker but currently I'm really itching for two updates in a major way:

Reason and Maschine. I guess I'm so feverish about these getting updates because they are the centerpieces of my production. The next update on either of these is going to seriously improve my workflow (at least I hope) :D

No doubt it will. But I hope you realize that part of the game is to give the user almost what he needs but hold back a little for later.... Again it's really money driven, if we plunked down 5,000 usd each for the maschine update of our dreams on the condition that it be downloadable before the middle of april, with our exact specific needs addressed, do you think it would be ready then?

No doubt money would fuel some passion on getting it done but I'm hoping that NI is just as passionate about releasing a update do to the massive size of their user base.

It's not like I meant that we all could just pony up with 5 K but the issue really is money, to keep the wheels going in any business. Last I heard the economy is getting hit pretty hard, so if the updates are slow, it could just be that they are under staffed because of budget concerns..

I agree it's a pain to have to wait for core functionallity but I wondering if multithreading for one couldn't be solved by using a host like reaper and load several instances of Maschine up. they would get loaded into different cores, is my understanding, then each instance would be become like a super group.

Finally I want them to do a thorough job of the coding so we don't have to deal with a lot a bugs, this requires both private and public beta testing, this hasn't been annonced so it's not likely we'll se an update like real soon... Hope I'm wrong though!

pure speculation u dont know if ni are having money issues they are selling sample packs like hot cakes

im still enjoying maschine as is but lets see what the new free update brings cos i aint looking to pay and think that would be a suprising move if they now decide to start charing us for updates

I agree. That would be shocking if the next update was not free. If there is a fee to upgrade it better be a revolutionary upgrade or maybe even the FULL DAW that a lot of people are hoping for. :D

Maschine 1.x was a MASSIVE let-down in my eyes - that's not to slate the product in general, just that I didn't find it to be promise NI had suggested.

Maschine can only go to v2 now IMO - needing huge improvements to it's sequencer and the much-requested time-stretching (the sequencer alone would, most-likely, see me buy back in); amongst other things.

1.7 was a weak update for anyone not using Komplete8 - and if not using other NI apps then you might as well go MPC anyway.

It will be a free software update (timestretch etc). And a pricy hardware upgrade.

IDK, maybe the US office, but certainly not the German one.

Lets be honest though really, this is just nonsense. Germany has very likely the strongest and most stable economy on Earth right now, and if the USA does continue it's march towards being a 3rd world country, NI can just move the LA office to somewhere cheap in the UK, and no-one would even notice I'd bet.

    Seriously though, this is laughable.
