Please please please, can we have native support for the Denon DN-S3700s? I like traktor but can't use it because the midi is not working properly. At the moment I have to use Virtual DJ to DJ because their support with the Denons is amazing. I use the Audio 8 DJ which is the best soundcard avalible but can't use it with its official program.

Long story short, we want a official midi mapper for the DN-S3700 decks!

I use a pair of DN-S3700s with Traktor in hybrid mode and it's almost flawless, the only gripe I have with it is the sticker drift but that isn't a huge problem. Everything is midi mapped and the platters spin.

I'm getting a pair of 3700's in my nightclub. How accurate is the pitch fader? I play a lot of 70s disco. Does it feel just like the real thing in hybrid mode?
    Thanks!

Alright hopefully I can answer both of you in one post lol.
Basically the way it works is you launch it into hybrid mode, you have a usb going from the deck to your laptop (or USB hub) and an rca going from the deck into the Audio 8 (the audio 8 or other NI soundcard or cert. mixer is required ). The midi signals travel through the usb and the deck itself generates a 2khz timecode signal and sends that down the RCAs. On traktor you set it up as normal with a timecode cd however traktor will say the calibration has failed. This is normal and should be ignored (it is due to the deck producing it's own 2khz timecode and not the official NI 2khz signal). The pitch fader is very accurate, I can usually get tracks matched to the 100th degree on traktor. The pitch fader can be set to 6%, 10%, 16% and 100% so obviously with 6% you can get very accurate beat matching. The only downfall with the denon timecode signal is that there is some sticker slip when scratching but apart from that it is perfect in my opinion. The midi works great and allows you to pretty much map everything you need in traktor to the decks.

Edit:MasterP you need both Traktor Scratch Pro and a compatible sound card (Audio 8, Audio 4, x1600 etc.)

    @Bkag.
Thank you for your comprehensive answer, really really appreciated. I will just have to use a good midi setup with my TP then.
My reason for choosing DENON DN-S3700 is the flexibility to also spin from CD and USB stick. Compared to Pioneer the DENON just to me like it has a solid build quality.

Thanks, Bkag. Ah, I see....So, there is both tone and midi....hence, hybrid. I was kind of hoping for a no tone situation, but what can you do?
I'm looking forward to giving those bad boys a whirl!

Master P, It is super flexible, one thing to bare in mind is that to switch from midi to cd to usb etc. takes a few seconds, is is by no means instant. For most people this isn't a problem as they switch while the other deck is playing anyway but I have heard some complaints about that (I haven't figured out why yet)

Maryalice, They can handle a no tone situation, and if you run virtual dj or RPM you can run them in full midi mode with spinning platters and everything. The problem in Traktor is that the spinning platter is not supported so you can run them with no tone but you lose the spinning platter feature.

Denonlover, I use the built in mapper in the traktor prefs, I personally have some gripes with it but I am not aware of an external midi mapper which works with traktor.

Edit: Denonlover, make sure you are running it in hybrid midi mode, you access that through pressing the midi button then scrolling with the right encoder, if it doesn't come up you need to update the firmware which can be downloaded from the denon site. With the new firmware you also get more accuracy with the platters so it is definitely worth the upgrade

There is a tsi file on here somewhere. Saves you mapping everything yourself. LEDs work, and instruction manual and everything. Works amazing!

I can't it working, one deck works with lights and stuff, the other one works sometimes. And the one deck that works controls both decks in traktor and the timecode is fine but slips a little.

Ohhh yeah I forgot to add one extra thing, every time you launch traktor you have to assign each mapping to each deck, both the in and out ports. Mine usually are connected in the same order so I just have to assign deck B to the second DN-S3700 on both lists.

Just use the two labeled custom, the other one was one I was working on but never finished. The issue with the lights is probably coming from the wrong unit being selected in the midi out drop down. To check everything is set up correctly hit the "next track button" and the blue led screen surround on that unit should light up, then do the same with the other and the blue led screen surround on that unit should light up and the other units blue leds should switch off. If that is not the case check your midi ins and outs again.
