Native support for Numark NS7 & V7

I just bought my NS7 (and happily got rid of my BCD3000). I have to say that don't like Itch at all. The main thing I don't like with Itch is the syncing of the music and the effects are nothing compared to Traktor Pro. Plus the BPM counter with Itch sucks.

I love Traktor Pro, it's the software I'm used to mix with. But because there was no announcement for Traktor Pro support of NS7 at NAMM 2010 I just bought Virtual DJ which at least support NS7 platter, and has very good syncing. Now I miss support for NSFX and I need to use my mouse for effects in VDJ :angry: .

Traktor Pro is the best software and I would like to have native support for NS7.

It would be also interesting to have support for NSFX too, but I guess could buy the new Kontrol1 by NI if they ever support the NS7. C'mon NI I know you can do it!

I agree, Traktor is the best software and this is reason enough to want NS7 support.

Have you tried the TSI file I created for the NS7. I've never tested the NSFX unit because I don't have access to one but I think it might send regular midi as well which would would in Traktor.

However, I have mapped effects controls in my tsi file as well. I only received a little bit of feedback on it.

I'm not sure if the NS7 users liked or disliked the effects mappings. I mapped them with the idea of not having an NSFX but using the Delete button and a shift button so you could control the effects.

Everything is mapped as Itch with a couple changes here and there. I have a write up here,

Platters can control the decks but it's pretty much for testing only right now because it's all midi mapping.

Bump for NS 7 platter Support in Traktor Scratch

 

I too wish to request full native HID support for the Numark NS7! And while we are at it all future Numark HID controllers! Ie the V7 and X7! Seeing as they should go hand in hand! Make it possible for us to use the premier DJ software with the premier controllers!

 

Since there are now two controllers lacking support, it's about time to get moving NI.

 

I'm on the fence about buying an NS7. I've "almost" several times but what's holding me back is that there isn't any official Traktor support. Quartz has done amazingly well with his mapping but NI needs to provide that final push.

Numark. You're the one who will make a profit if I buy an NS7 so pleeeease, give a kick to NI's butt and tell them to get your hardware running flawlessly with Traktor. And NI... I know at least a couple of NS7 owners who would loooove to buy your software. Bitte meinen Herren. You could rule the world.

 

This is all true, however the NS7 uses a proprietry protocol to move the platters. The NS7 also comes with Serato Itch, one of Traktor's main competetors. So I'm guessing, until Vestax tell NI what this control is, you are all SOL.

Regardless. NuMark is in bed with both NI and Serato. It doesn't seem to matter that they are competitors.

NI are you listening? Support for the NS7 and V7! It only makes sense for the best hardware to have the best software.
PLEASE.

 

We would like Native Instruments to make a statement on this case, its been such a long time now and we feel NI does owe us some kind of statement towards supporting the NS7 / V7.

 

The Numark mixdeck is Traktor Endorsed maybe that might cause the problem of them not supporting the NS7

 

Native Support to Numark NS7

Please support the Numark NS7 with Traktor. I've had this hunk of junk NS7 for almost a full year with 0 support from Native and gotten more support for the user group. I DESPISE Itch. I really do, but I am starting to not enjoy the lack of support from Native either.

Just got an NS7 and what an awesome solution it is. I am currently using a VCI-100 and X1, but will probably do my next gig with my NS7 and itch. Sucks because itch is a very vanilla application and I am used to my current workflows in traktor.

unfortunately the VCI-100 is not a perfect solution for hardware. So it comes down to what do I want to be lacking in - software or hardware.

If NI would support the NS7 this would be a perfect combo.
