So be carefully to further updates of Reaktor 6. Perhaps snapshot function can be vanished.

Snapshots function won't vanish. It's kinda integral to the .ens format.

Nope; can only work with individual samples in the list, though you can still drag in and select multiple samples to the map. The whole Sample Map drop-down menu (Import (merge), Import (replace), Export including audio data) is gone. I guess if you open any ensemble with sample maps and turn off EDIT mode, you'll see exactly what that means.

Yup, Morph and Random are still there when snapshots are viewed; have to save results as presets of course.

and you may want to make a backup copy of the factory library in case NI decides to lock it.

    Couple of things:

I just saw this at Twisted Tools, along with their announcement about adding Player support (http://twistedtools.com/blog/twisted-tools-ni-reaktor-player-support-coming-soon/):

"Will the Player versions be locked or unlockable using EDIT mode?
We've chosen, to release our existing instruments in an 'unlocked' format (EDIT MODE is on), so that users can open them up and do what they please with them. We will see how it goes and assess the potential for abuse before deciding on whether or not future instruments will be locked or unlocked."

Plus, I had quick email exchanges with "informed sources" at both Heavyocity and TTools, the jist of which, in both cases, was they basically agree this locking thing is currently a mess and are fairly confident that it'll get fixed to one degree or another by NI, but perhaps no more quickly than fixes ever get done there.

Seems to me that it would be wise to start becoming much more "squeeky" with the Natives about this!

I also heard that one dev concern is that unlocked stuff could be stolen and locked away so it could never be proven. I totally get that… But it's yet another example of how this current system really serves nobody, IMO.

I wonder why there couldn't just be two levels of EDIT lock-ability, allowing the top levels to be open for patching instruments together and tweaking Properties at the very least for full owners, while shutting out access to anything deeper down at the dev's discretion.

AND allowing for new sample maps!! Duh…

In FORM is a locked macro. This is a better way against stolen software ideas.

Amazing; so they'd already SOLVED this problem. Well, maybe that's hopeful:)

No David. As FORM comes on the market place it was before 6.2 and Jim told us that the macro for analysing samples is blocked.

If they could block macros then, perhaps they can offer or show how to do it now, too, no?

David, please ask the author of FORM
    upload_2017-11-25_12-47-42.png
One of them can give you an answer. And/or the support at NI - open a ticket.
    I think it's a LaZYfiSh trick!

    Hi !
To make things clear about my ensembles since the Reaktor Player update..
To all early users that own the full version of Reaktor, you must know that, even with "edit" locked, it’s still possible to use the following features:

    - save / load your own snapshots and snapshot banks
    - save / load your own sample banks via the "sample map manager"
    - include multiple Blinksonic instruments in a single instance of Reaktor 6

    Below the instructions :

    - open a new ensemble in R6
    - click on "Edit"
    - in the structure of the ensemble, right click and choose "import ensemble »
    - choose Ruidoz, Substanz, Voz or Aetonz, from their original location - the one you choose during install and register.
OR drag n drop the ensemble from the player library to the ensemble structure..

    That's all !
This way, we have access to the entire upper layer structure of the ensemble, then it’s possible to reload / save your settings as on previous versions. You can replicate all snapshots banks on the level you want, even create new ones. This is valid for both RUIDOZ, AETONZ, SUBSTANZ and VOZ.

I want to apologize for not having informed this solution earlier.
This is an exemple that shows again how deep Reaktor is, with all these undiscovered features ... I ignored it was possible. We learn every day :)

    About my responsibility on this…
It should also be understood that encoding to Reaktor Player for a third party developers is a new model, and I didn’t evaluate this aspects just before the release, focused I was with bug/fix, quality of the new features and NKS compatibilities.

True that I mentioned by email that I was thinking of an update to make available again these features, while I was ignoring that it was not necessary, since these features never disapear .. obviously subject of being aware it was really the case.
I want to clarify that this request, even marginal, didn't leave me indifferent.
But we must also take into account that each update implies to be evaluated.. and it takes time.

I'm a bit upset that it have triggered that much debate. Regarding the affordable prices of my instruments, the updates are free, and I still contribute to the User Library, just last week with PROCESSORZ, which for once, you can do whatever you want with it, all the build is open.

I come here to give an concrete answer, and it was necessary, but the NI forum is not my official platform for technical support.
I answer to all the messages, so please send your query at this address : info {at} blinksonic.com

    Thanks for your understanding.
    Best,
    Sylvain.

Midi program changes work as expected following the approach suggested by Sylvain.

and 1 final step for Sylvain's approach above, save the modified ensemble in a different folder than the original, otherwise you will be prompted to supply the location each time you save.

Thank you, Sylvain; very welcome information. I'm rather surprised it never occurred to me to try this myself! It's such a simple and complete fix, at least for what I wanted (I can't see any blocked access to regular features, but I'm not a builder and haven't looked beyond the top few structure layers…), it sort of worries me that even this may get somehow broken in a future update! Especially since it's never been suggested to me by NI nor any other locking 3rd-party dev in response to my requests for a fix or work-around, which suggests a hope that we don't find out about it!

Snapshots function is not available in the locked Blinksonic ensembles (not buying any others as this is ridiculous)

Not tried the 'workaround' yet but it shouldn't be needed, this is a problem that should not exist (same for sample map import)

Also it probably messes up NKS support
