    Hello all,

Yesterday I purchased Traktor for the first time. I am wondering what other "gear" I need to be able to perform live and in webcasts. One thing I noticed is that I cannot hear what I am cueing without actually crossing over, for which I assume that I need some sort of multichannel sound card.... Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of any learning Traktor documentation and digital djing guides please share...

    Thank you in advance

You will need at least a 4 channel card to prelisten.

You might want to also get a Controller like:

    http://www.faderfox.de/

If you live in the USA Fader Fox is still not for sale here.
then you should give this a look see:

    http://207.97.192.13/browseproducts/M-audio-X-session.html

But I would wait until the release of Traktor 3.0 before spending cash on anything right now. I have a feeling that my X-Session will not have enough knobs for the new 3.0 version. It has enough for 2.6.

For T3 4 channels will work to give you a starting system, To use a 4 deck setup AND and external Mixer you will need an 8 Channel channel soundcard If you want to use a fully assigned system and use prelisten to the a 10 channel card will be needed. In that case take a look at the M-Audio Firewire 410 or 1814.

Quite true and very good advice!

    Hey thanks for the replies.
I wouldn´t be using anything external for now. Just Traktor and would like to be able to prelisten to A or B. Is a 4 channel card enough for this?

will you be able to use the indigo card still?
I know we then cant use an external mixer, but I suppose a soundcard with enough outputs is going to cost a few quid.

Yes it is and yes you can. I'm using one for testing right now, works fine with about 5.5Msec latency.

Echo Indigo DJ for 2 deck 4 channel work internal and external mixer and the Firewire 410 for 2 & 4 Deck (4, 8 & 10 Channel) out.
