Need advice about bundled Komplete lite editions

I'm a Maschine Mikro owner. In my user account there are various "lite" editions of Komplete. I need to re-setup all my audio software. I want to know which is the most comprehensive one, specifically regarding the included free Kontakt libraries (not interested in installing the effects, additional synths and Reaktor stuff at this moment).

These are the Komplete "lite" editions that I have:

• MASCHINE MIKRO incl. Komplete Elements
• KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2
• KOMPLETE SELECT (11)
• KOMPLETE START (which is free for all)

I also have access to two versions of the free KONTAKT FACTORY SELECTION. A seemingly older one, which I can manually download and install and one that I can directly install from Native Access.

I understand that Komplete SELECTION for MASCHINE 2 pretty much makes the older "MASCHINE MIKRO incl. Komplete Elements" obsolete regarding the included Kontakt libraries.

Since KOMPLETE START is the "free for all edition", I guess it's not a comprehensive as either KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2, nor KOMPLETE SELECT 11, right?

On the other hand, it seems that neither KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2, nor KOMPLETE SELECT 11 include the additional Kontakt Player libraries PLAY SERIES SELECTION, which I would like to have as well!

Having currently installed Kontakt Player with the standard KONTAKT FACTORY SELECTION (the version shown in NATIVE ACCESS), I'm also missing some great Kontakt Player string sections with different articulations. They were done by Vienna Symphonic if I'm not totally mistaken and my guess is that they came with KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2. Why are they not included in either KOMPLETE SELECT 11 or KOMPLETE START, when they in general seem to be the more current and comprehensive lite editions?

Longtime Maschine Mikro user here. Have to setup my audio computer again. Confused about the various bundled / free "lite" editions of Komplete in my account. I'm looking for the version that is the most current and most comprehensive in terms of the bundled free Kontakt content (not interested in the Reaktor content and effects right now, except maybe for Monark). Specifically, I want to get the lite version of Komplete, which features the following Kontakt content:

• Kontakt Factory Selection (the standard free library)
• String Section (by Vienna Symphonic if I'm not mistaken)
• PLAY SERIES SELECTION
• DRUMLAB
• RETRO MACHINES (MK2)
• SCARBEE MARK I
• THE GENTLEMAN
• VINTAGE ORGANS
• WEST AFRICA

In theory I should have access to all those sounds, but which Komplete lite version must I install in order to get all of those Kontakt sounds in one package, without missing one or two of them? I want to avoid redundant installations.

 

You'll want Komplete Select, see also this product page. That's a paid version thus it's less limited than the others, and it includes the instruments you mentioned (South Afrika & Scarbee for example, see also this comparison chart). Maybe also interesting to know: having a Select license also provides options to upgrade to a fuller version of Komplete. And right now all upgrades get a 50% discount, maybe something to keep into consideration...

 

Thanks for the reply, but I think you misunderstood. I'm not interested in buying another entry version of Komplete, since I already got access to multiple entry versions of Komplete as bundled with my Maschine license and of course the free for all Komplete Start.

All the stuff that's inside Komplete Select is already covered by the various bundled Komplete entry versions that I own (bundled with Maschine). The issue is just that they are part of different packages. For example

• Vienna String Section lite is only included in KOMPLETE Selection for Maschine or KOMPLETE SELECT 11
  
• PLAY SERIES SELECTION - I can get those via the free KOMPLETE START

So if I want to have the PLAY SERIES SELECTION, I can install the free KOMPLETE START, but then I'm missing the other libraries (eg SCARBEE MARK1, WEST AFRICA etcetera), that are included in the other packages. If I install KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE I will have those fantastic VIENNA STRING SECTION sounds, but I will miss PLAY SERIES SELECTION. So, in order to get all the sounds, will I have to install multiple entry versions of KOMPLETE that I own in my user account?



The issue that I have: a few particular Kontakt sounds (Vienna String Section) that were part of one of those bundled Komplete entry versions, are not part of the more recent Komplete entry versions. Must I install the most recent and additionally the older Komplete entry version that came bundled with Maschine (KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2) to get hold of all the sounds I listed?

 

No, I understood completely; Komplete Select is the bigger version out of the list you posted so if you want to prevent too much overlap then that would be the best approach to start with here.

You'd want 'Komplete Select' & 'KOMPLETE SELECTION for MASCHINE 2'. Everything else is pretty much already covered by these two. Note that the player series is a part of a Kontakt library, not necessarily Komplete itself though you do get Ethereal Earth together with Select.

All your products are available to install individually so you don't have to choose which bundle to pick here if you have them all.
Just download and install everything you have in your account using Native Access.

 

And "duplicate" licences from different libraries are shown in Native Access only once. So, there is no tradeoff in registering all libraries you own. Probably, you might skip Komplete Selection, as Komplete 11 Select should have everything from Komplete Selection.
