I just got enough money to finally order a maschine and a audio 2 dj sound card. I am asking you all this question: should i buy it now? is there a risk of a new maschine controller coming out? it literally took me a year to save up this money, living on my own its hard to actually save anything right now. I would be using maschine 95% as a live sampler to run along traktor, hence the reason to buy the audio 2 dj soundcard. should i want for maschine 2? should i wait until maschine and traktor work side by side without a need for a soundcard? or should i just buy it now. i know this question has been asked 1029312380 times so im sorry.

Bruh, I say buy NOW! Who knows when or if NI will come out with a new controller version. If they do, I would assume (& I could be wrong) that they would let owners upgrade for a small fee. Look, I feel your pain. I don't live on my own, (I have a fiance') but it has been rough for us. More so on my side because, I've been battling a job layoff, odd jobs, & on/off again unemployment since the economic bottoming out of October 2008. I've been blessed to recently get a new job a few weeks ago. It's not much of what I had, but it helps with our bills & leave a little more $$$ for couple time & my beat making hobby purchases, lol! See, I don't have Maschine either yet & I'm looking forward to the plunge in a couple of weeks too! So I say GO FOR IT! You have nothing to loose at this point & all to gain! Just make sure you have a computer up to Maschine's specs & like Nike, JUST DO IT! I'm sure others on here will agree. Maschine is growing everyday as we speak, we might as well get in on the action! GOOD LUCK!

you only live once my man.... who says tomorrow that money will be in your pocket, if you save up for maschine don't think that a new controller will change the way your work flow is developed... of course i believe they will be coming with something new... but do you really wanna wait for it, time waits for no man.... jump and fly...

i am in a similar situation, the difference is that i found maschine for 475€)a month ago and bought it. if you look you can find maschine for 450€. (100€ es mucha plata!).
everything after looking all the market about this type of hardware (sampler pad)

this hardware is good as is. dont worry if NI or wathever launches a new sampler pad with new features: this will happen any day. but this maschine hardware will give you fun for years!

another good thing about this is that NI is active developing the maschine software, we will see maschine for years, there are a lot of things to do in software that the developing team is working on it, and we will see in future software updates.

you should go for it .i bought it 2 monthes ago because i wanted a good drum mashine and now maschine is the center of my setup.i use it as my primary sequencer daw. maschine is a very good beat production tool-sequencer-sampler.it has overpass my expectations(honestly) and second nobody officially from ni team said that there will be a maschine 2( although i thing they will release it in 1-2 years but this is my personal opinion )ni is currently focus to improve maschine with the software updates so whats the point with the updates if they want to release maschine2 soon?anyway its your dicision.you can buy it and "get into"it;) very fast or you can wait until maschine2 appears(if).i just replied because i had the same thoughts before buy it and i am happy for having this unit.

I would say buy now. 1) there has been no mention of a new controller. Even if there was I highly doubt that it would make the current controller obsolete. 2) buying based on maschine current abilities it is a amazing piece of gear.

I'd say go for it...I have recently bough one and man it changed everything. Saves time, fun to play and your creativity and versatility will increase 100 times. I have trying to write beats in Ableton for years, yet it never felt proper. Don't wait as you can start learning and developing with Maschine now..who knows what will happen and when.

Agree, you only live once, that is one reason I bought Maschine, I bought mine a week ago and in love with it! Need sometime to learn it but it is quite easy to pick up and go. I sold some of my old hardware which I wasnt using and managed to claw my money back to pay for this :)

I was very unsure because a new controller may come out but I doubt it until version 2 is released but the controller is excellent anyway and well built. Beta 1.6 adds so much more as well, yes there are still many features I would like to see in Maschine (multi core, groove templates and stuff).

I think Maschine works with Traktor, sure there is youtube videos on this, best thing to do is look at all the videos on youtube and then decide if it does what you want it to do. I am just having fun with using the standalone and 90% of the time having fun with the hardware rather than dragging, clicking and thinking with the mouse

    Maschine should you buy?

Well there is always the thought that if you buy technology that after a time a new version will come out and you'll feel left behind if you don't upgrade.. But with music gear and other gear that you use creatively you are the one that decides when you need to upgrade. If you're getting results out of what you have now, there is no need to change.. Focus on your music making skills. Learn your tools.

I don't sense that NI would be upgrading the Maschine hardware within 6 months or a year, times are hard, the economic climate uncertain, so it makes sense for NI to make their user platform broader by lowering the price and increasing the functionality of the maschine system, I know that's what got me interested..

Then in a year or so maybe it would be worth it to NI to introduce a new controller, getting the seasoned users to upgrade and attracting new high end users..

Speaking for myself I'll not be upgrading my Maschine for a least 3 years even if they came out with a new version tomorrow..

    Regards

    Buy it it's worth it

I sold mine for some fast cash. Told myself I can buy again w/no problem. Times are hard still wish I had it and not have sold it. Little by lil I'm getting the cash up. Go ahead you won't regret it.

Buy it...your weekends will never look same, the versatility of maschine is amazing, you will find new levels of working with your creations all the time.
I had mine for two years now and it has been working like a dream and with all the updates forthcoming I dont see the point in releasing a newer hardware-controller

also...seeing all the upcoming competitors from other brands at the recent NAMM-show made me sure choosing maschine was the right thing (they look good from a far but far from good :)
