I am trying to get some new presets into my synth but am having a bit of trouble.

    I dropped the files into My Documents/Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Massive

and restarted the vst. I reopened the vst, switched from Synth mode to Browser mode, and can see the presets in My Sounds folder. However when i try to play them, it will display the name of the preset in the top center of the synth, but it will not affect the synth at all. I just hear the standard wave that Massive opens to. What am I doing wrong?

thanks for that, it is a helpful link. Someone told me I should locate Massive's database file, and delete it. He said " Its a really annoying bug that NI built in to deter piracy" would this work? If so, how would I locate the Database file?...he also said it reinstalls upon re-opening Massive, so there is no worry on loosing it.

In case you can't use the presets by loading them manually (with the File/Open Sound function), you're probably using an older version of Massive.
Due to the Kore Updates the Massive preset Format is adapting with almost every Massive Update as well and you're not able to load sounds created with new Massive Version in older releases.

I have the 1.2.1 update and i am having the same troubles.

All my downloaded Massive .ksd files work fine in the stand alone but once i select them in the VST version, they just play the default sound that Massive plays... No matter which one I click!

Also if i try to load them indavidually in the VST version it says 'Cant Open File' as if my version of Massive isnt updated even though ive downloaded and installed the update.. :(

Check if VST and Standalone are having the same version number, you might have to copy the VST from the Massive/VSTPlugins folter into your VST folder manually...

sorry to be a noob, but how do i check the version number for the VST version? The standalone obviously has a File/Help task bar up the top but the VST in FL studio doesnt

yep your right my VST version of massive isnt receiving the update at all.. its at version 1.1.1... So it seems that only the stand alone is actually being updated :S

So bring it up to date manually the way I described a few days ago ;)
