Accidentally posted in the wrong forum. HOpe this is the right one. :)

Need help to lower my latency
Hi folks, I searched through the forum and knowledge base, tried everything, nothing seemed to work so far.
My main concern is with Guitar Rig 3(demo at the moment)'s latency. I have a macbook pro, 2ghz core duo, 2gb of ram, 5400rpm 80gb internal hd.
I have the latest driver, I unplugged the other usb port. And I have both mbox original and audio kontrol 1. Both plugged into the highspeed usb port on the side of the power connector.
With audio kontrol 1, the smallest latency I get using guitar rig's panel was 7ms. However, it crackles when I play. Good response, but crackles. 8ms is noticeably slower, a bit too slow, plus it still crackles. The cpu load meter hovers around 20-21% when I am not playing anything.
With mbox, the latency meter doesn't change when I move it. It always says 23ms. But the response feels more like 8ms, and it doesn't crackle.
I was hoping that audio kontrol 1 would give me good latency, but mbox is beating it at the moment. Which is bit confounding, when guitar rig is native instrument software.

When I am running guitar rig, I am not running any other program. I removed all of the widgets in my dashboard. I did have quicksilver, but I removed that.

I am running guitar rig as a standalone.

When I load activity monitor, the kernel_task hovers around 16%, with windows server taking around 3%. From what I read, 16% for kernel_task seems bit high.

So, now, my question is how can I lower my latency with audio kontrol? At this moment, if I can lower mbox's latency as well, then I will take that

Please help, I searched the web, tried various things, nothing seems to make a difference.

    Thank you very much

It might be a driver conflict with your MBox. There are just too many possibilities as well as specifics to make your AK1 work flawlessly at lower latencies; you just have to try the troubleshooting guide or submit tech support tickets
