I use an external HD to save my music collection on. I have set music to be arranged in categories that I am familiar with in the external HD. Evertime I get new music I move the files to the appropriate folder(s) that I have created. Then I do a import music collection inside TSP2 and I always get duplicates.

    1. How can I eliminate the duplicates in an easier fashion beside doing one song at a time?

2.Does anyone know if I make tags, cue and loop points, and other annotations in TSP2 and save it as a .nml can I then erase old .nml files and use the latest saved one without getting duplicates and of course saving the new tags, loop, etc?

    3. This one is a separate question...I have a Audio 8 and I seem to always get an orange light under the TC Vinyl and TC CD area, I know it is supposed to be green. Am I losing or missing anything that I should be concerned about?

    Thanks All.

I have searched the forum and can't seem to find the right answers.

    Have a great one!

when you get duplicates in traktor, you have duplicates.
e.g. the same song is in different folders or is in the same folder but written differently (traktor is case sensitive!)

activate the file column in traktors browser and check that.

Thank FreshFluke! I think I have found the way. What about the orange light that I get on A8?

is traktor case sensitive ? I would say otherwise. Example rename an audio file and change one letter in the file from a small letter to an uppercase letter but use the same letter then do a consitency check on that file you will notice that traktor will not mark that song as a missing track

Another example : rename an audio file in windows explorer and don't do a consistency check and re import that folder into your collection then do a check for you whole collection and you will notice that traktor will not detect any missing files and you will end up with sort of a duplicate file. I don't think this behavior is normal.

    yes it is.

cant confirm the findings you have.

import the folder where the track is in. you will find the renamed track along with the old one, but when you load the old one, it will be shown as missing.
(consistency check should show that too, hmmm... gotta test that.)

it's expected to have 2 references now. one is working the other is not. for traktor these are completely different files and it doesnt make a difference for traktor if there is only one letter different or the whole file name.

that's a pretty interesting question. i gotta investigate, but from what you write i would suspect a bug here.

ok i renamed a file to test and the consitency check worked but it appears to not work only on certain times but i must test this further, I suspect that it happens when you rename many songs, re import the music files then do a consitancy check only later. I have had this happen to me many times in t past
