Need to get Absynth 4 working desperately

Hi all, I recently upgraded my Mac Pro to OS Mojave, to get access to Logic 10.5, I stupidly installed it on the same partition I had a fully working install of OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and Logic 10.3 I believe. I had NI Komplete 5 components running that were 32 bit, via 32Lives (Battery 3 and Absynth 4 if memory serves). I also have Komplete 10 installed, Absynth 4 and 5 worked perfectly well alongside each other. Long story short I decided to revert back to El Capitan and Logic 10.3

I didn't think I had missed anything by deciding to overwrite the El Capitan partition originally, I hardly worked on any songs, it was only when I re-installed El Capitan and Logic 10.3 and opened a song that had Absynth 4 patches that failed to load that I realised the stupidity of what I did. I thought the patch would re-load correctly once I selected Absynth 5 but it loads the default patch. So I installed 32Lives hoping to install Absynth 4 from the original disks - but I couldn't find the original disks. Now I have to warn you, from this point on I have reached desperation levels - so please excuse the ridiculousness of what I did next.

I copied over the Absynth 4 Component file into the Components folder on the new install, I ran 32Lives which packaged it as a 64 bit plugin and was pleased to see the plugin opened, but was showing the Buy, Activate, Demo window. I got the Absynth 4 serial number from my Mac OS 10.7 hard drive and NI Service Centre, when I select the Activate option the machine tries to connect to Service Centre but can't. so I am stuck with a load of songs that have patches from Absynth 4 that I can no longer work on unless by some stroke of fortune I am able to fin and edit the patches to create the same sounds. We all know thats never going to happen. Is there any possible way I can get Absynth 4 re-activated pleae ?

 

Try using the activation number in Native Access - Service Centre has been shut down.

I tried using Native Access, first I entered the serial number for Absynth 4 as it is displayed in Service Center on my old partition (it shows as being part of the Komplete 5 bundle), it said the serial number was not valid. Then I used the serial number for Komplete 5, again, taken from Serice Center on my old partition). It accepted the serial number but Absyth 4 doesn't show in Native Access and when I open the Plug in I still have the window appear asking Activate/Buy/Demo. So the plugin's link to authorisation in Native Access doesn't seem to be working. I am wondering if I this is happening because I didn't actually re-install Absynth on the new partition, all I did was copy the component file to the components folder. Perhaps thats why the link to Native Access isn't working ???

Any clues on how to force the plugin to sync up with Native Access ?

You cannot activate Absynth 4 with NA, as the table in this knowledgebase article states.

So, what you could do is, run the Absynth instance in demo mode, save out the patches used in Absynth 4 instances, replace those instances with Absynth 5 and load your patches back in.

 

Thanks for confirming. Alas I think I have been thwarted then, because what seems to happen when I load a song that has an Absynth 4 plugin is the plugin loads with a default sound/patch, which seems to be a basic sine wave, so when I select "Demo" there is no patch loaded for me to copy - even though all of the patches are there listed in the interface

 

Well, that's not cool.

I guess the only solution left to you is to go the "eyepatch and wooden leg" way...
