everythings more or less great ,apart from the odd technical issue with traktor and vestax ,but the thing thats bugging me is that when im mixing and recording it sounds great through the moniters but when it comes to playback my levels are all over the place...im using mp3s and im trying to find out if theres a music compression package i can use in conjunction with traktor to eliminate this at source or wether there is another programme available that i can get that will enable sound levelling throughout my mixes as its driving me nuts...and to be quite honest the misses is fed up off the constant swearing so if anyone knows what i dont id be obliged ta

Not really sure what your doing wrong here, sounds like a gain issue though. Most tracks have different sound levels, this is due to the way they are produced/mastered. If mixing just on normal vinyl or cd's you would get this also, especially on vinyl. To fix it just you would adjust the gains on the mixer to suit.

One way round it would be to turn Autogain on.

Options - Mixer - Level -> Set Autogain When Loading Track

Maybe enable Master Limiter too whilst your there

    Hope this helps

cheers andy but ive tried the autogain just adds to much bass to the quieter tracks, ill have a try with the master limiter and see if thats an option or maybe ill just stop mixing with the crossfader

If you keep your Master Volume down to 0.0db you should not have clipping or distortion issues.

You've just reminded me, I had a sound issue about a year ago, one of the problems was the master gain. I've got it set to -3 all the time so no clipping, effects tend to push it over the 0 barrier so gives it some headroom.

Onto other possible issues, you got any of the filters/effects/key locks turned on?
