I think there's quite a difference in the way Native does it in choosing amps to model from for instance (and especially) Line 6. In my Vetta II, I have some 70 to 80 different amps modelled. This includes some six versions of the "Plexi", whereas Native seems to concentrate on fewer amps, with more tweakability per amp (channels, variac, bias and more). Having owned none of the amps simulated in neither Guitar Rig or Vetta (and if I had, I would use the original, I guess...), I feel more like building a sound from more or less from scratch than trying to make it sound like something else I have. After all, most recorded guitar is the result of a lot of work after it´s come out of the amp.

But if they feel like making more amp modelling; Perhaps a tube preamp simulation, a Budda or a Matchless?

It would be nice, though, with a few more bass amps. A favorite from POD is the Amp 360, based on Acoustic Control Corporation's Acoustic 360. It really brings out the sound of wood in my bass, in a Roger Waters-kind of way. Ask some native bass players (not guitarists that do bass on the side) of their needs, maybe? :)

An acoustic simulator would also be nice.

acoustic amps are supposed to reproduce the sound of the acoustic as realistically as possible. It's just a tiny PA. Why would you want NI to spend time modeling something that is supposed to sound like nothing? I made an acoustic amp in gr2/3 it's up on this forum somewhere

there it is try that sound as a starting point if you're looking for an acoustic amp

I was thinking more of a simulation (probably a box, not an "amp" that gives an acoustic sound to a normal electric guitar sound (like the Boss AC-3, http://www.bossus.com/index.asp?pg=1&tmp=153), even though that may not always sound THAT close to an acoustic guitar. :)

Well, that may be true - just like electric guitar amps are supposed to give you a 'clean' and a 'distorted' sound. So how come there are so many out there? You could probably get away with two - a Marshall and a Fender. But why does NI spend so much time making models of them? Because they each have their own sound and people want them. Acoustic amps also have their own character as well which is determined as much by the electronics as the spekaer system. Really - if you want the best reproduction of an acoustic you will use a mic.

I'm not suggesting that NI makes 10 or 15 acoustic amp models - just a few would be nice. And remember - not all acoustic players want to 'just reproduce the natural sound of the acoustic'. If that were the case then the amp makers would not be adding digital effects, sub-woofer outputs, stereo processing to the amps and GK and multi-piezo type pickups to the acoustics. If you sit down with three different acoustic amps you will get three different sounds.

This goes as well for bass amps/preamps - something that NI is woefully lax on modeling. I have an Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp - sounds great! I used to have an Alembic bass preamp that sounded even better. It would be nice to have more then one bass amp/preamp model to work with.

I would love to hear a model of a mesa 20/20 stereo power amp, going to two 2x12 cabs, when overdriven this thing has unbelievable distortion.

Also a model of Rivera's cabinets that have built in crossovers and sub-woofers for 7string/baritone guitars would be lovely for my purposes :D

Ever tried the model "Big Bottom", a Line 6 simulation based on that amp? :)

Yes, it´s deep and heavy! I remember having used it for a version more towards punk or metal of "Happy Birthday", but I can´t find the recording now. Has anyone tried adding deep end in Guitar Rig by using bass cabinets (and possibly th Crossover Mix) together with regular cabinets (in GR, that is!)?

I'd just like to see power amps and preamps as separate entities. I hear you on the small tube power amps such as the 20/20 and the Marshall equivalent (EL84 20/20), though. A Kasha Rockmod II, a Marshall EL84 20/20 and two 2x12s was my live rig during the late 90s/early 2000s. I'd love to see a Kasha emulation...

You can get fairly close to that using 2 AC Boxes in stereo and with the TransAmp as a preamp.

I just don't believe that one can't emulate any acoustic amp with the modules already available.

If you want to say, "I want one that already sounds good without putting it together myself" that is totally ligit but,

send me a recording of a direct acoustic and a sound sample through an amp and I'll through some time at emulating the sound.

How about some boutique type stuff?

    1) Anything based on a Ken Fischer design would be great like Bad Cat or Trainwreck.

    2) Dr. Z amps are also very cool.

    3)The Carr Mercury is awesome.

4)nd then I really like Diezel amps too.

would it be pointless to ask for amp model models?
I've taken a liking to Digitech's rectifier amp sim.
    ---
perhaps it would be easier to build a module that emulated a number of digitech amps, of which two could be selected and warped between rather than build a module that could warp all the GR amps.

I've got to agree, anyone whose ever tinkered or built their own amp knows what a difference caps, filters and the odd resistor can make to the tone, let alone swapping out a tube in the V2 slot. I think the make your own amp idea is the wave of the future. An American company whose name I won't mention here is doing that to some extent now.
