new buttons MK2?

so what exactly does do the new buttons on the MK2 do? I have noticed that the < > buttons step through the tempo, swing and volume increments by values of 1 when selected, but what does the push encoder help with? and what exactly is the enter button for? and this ALL button how do I use that?

no kidding bro.. I searched the manual for about 40 mins and realized it stopped my production dead in its tracks when I did so I thought Id post a little question here..

WE ALL GET IT THERE IS A MANUAL.. ive also been using maschine for about 3 years so I dont need it that often.

what I mean to say isnt it just as easy to say.

"check out the hardware reference manual located in the help section." ?

instead of pointing someone a link to a NI page to download it when it obviously came with the software?

also NI links sometimes dont work cause of their buggy ass website.

 

Well my MK2 only arrived today and I can't d/l the manual at work. I may check it out when I get home if it doesn't 'stop my production dead in its tracks', although if you can't be arsed then probably neither can I

 

then I would have replied oh there is a new hardware manual for mk2 ?

SO... if anyone else would like to have a shot at it..

what do the new < > buttons do besides move the play head over (scrub) ? it seems redundant to add these cause the lower <step> buttons do this also..

and this dumb little enter button that just sits there not helping much, whats it purpose in life besides making people think they need to upgrade their hardware piece ?

and the big knob clicks downward for what again?

been checking out the manual but its hard to break the NI code in less then an hour or 2 and I would rather make track then be dumbfounded

In addition to above, the all button is not implemented yet. Encoder push loads in browser mode. Enter mirrors the encoder push.

The manual has a search function. You could have typed in the phrases and found all that out quite easy and quick without reading the whole manual. But I get it. Your the lazy self entitled type. You won't be bothered but expect and demand someone else should for you.

Must be a Mac thing but PDF manuals on windows have a big find box up top. I'm sure it's possible but not a Mac user.

The lazy and self entitled remark was well deserved and was more about your attitude than the question you asked. If you want to ask someone for help at least be cool about it.

all talk indicates that v2.0 will be a beast and will utilise the additional buttons and functions

but no talk of a new controller for those dissatisfied with the mk2 controller and hoping to get a tilt screen at version 2.

 

press CMD & F for find on a mac, works on everything that has a find function. My guess is the all button will be like select all?

 

my understanding is that the new inverse screen display negates the need for a tilt screen.

but some peeps is asking for it becos the mpc had it

 

I sure hope so. Meaning for editing sampler module and output parameters across all pads at once. Despite the little tiff there I agree the buttons can be utilized more. Early pics showed enter as tap for dedicated tap tempo so I hope they bring that back. The master section does nothing in sample edit now when none of the buttons are lit etc.

 

Thats kind of the definition of self entitled - you have assumed that since you bought something, people owe you answers. The NI manuals are excellent and easy to search. Try humility and grace instead of being antagonistic, you'll have more people who want to help that way.

what ever I asked simple questions and just expected a couple simple answers from the "community" but it seems there is no community here amongst some of the users and its all about how stupid you can make the people asking SIMPLE questions feel.

I must have mentored about 5-6 people on Maschine and inspired them to do what they dreamed and could not achieve right off the bat on there own..
