How 'bout a list of just the effects that you think would be worth adding to GR3. Include why you think that it's different enough to add.

    for me...

Zvex Fuzz Factory OR Zoom UltraFuzz : they both do the, 'gated splutter fuzz' that I've never heard out of a fuzz face or a muff

Boss RV-5 or any other 'verbs really: I want a reverb that sounds like outer space. Emulating springs is great and all but I want a huge icy reverb sound.

Moog Ring Mod: I've started a thread in support of this pedal and had little response. It seems like a one trick pony at first but the sound of it's tremelo is to die for.

Echo plex: a nasty delay would be fun!

    Convolution reverb.

    Intelligent harmonizer.

    Those are my big two!

I think any improvements to the pitch shifting engine would be great.

    "Convolution reverb."

Here is a case where a GR2 module serving as a shell for a VST plugin would serve a lot of people. eg. it would be pretty easy to find a convolution plugin (probably even a free one) that met your needs if GR2 could host it.

Convolution-based verbs aren't really the best bet for live use though, since they're so CPU-intensive.

The funny thing is that I took to running GR2 in Live so that I could use other VST's concurrently, and I wound up putting an instance of GR2 in a send bus just for the Spring Reverb! I'm actually a big fan of GR2's reverbs. :)

GR is already using convolution for the cabinet modeling, so this is not a far cry; plus Kontakt has a similar conv. reverb.

It's a pretty big step for a guitar processor!

How about that huge, cinematic sounding reverb/delay/bowing/Ebow sound like you'd hear from Sigur Ros? That's a sound I've always wanted, and there just don't seem to be any effects presets out there that can hammer it home.

I've been frustrated myself for the lack of 'Grand Canyon' reverbs, but I've tried combining several reverbs and delays in a chain and it works well! Although there's no example of it in the presets, I think.
This wasn't a request for a new effect though...
So here's one: How about a sample trigger? This could be related to dynamics ('sidechain' on a compressor functionality - yeah, why not!), but also pitch.

If only Eventide would write for us PC guys.... Makes me crazy thinking of the possibilities.

well now that moog put out the 'freq box' I have to dream of GR3 being able to do something similar.

I would like to see a good audio tracking synth effect. Something like the one in the Boss GT6. I had a GT6 for a while and I really miss that effect! Fretted Synth is doing some very interesting things along this line.

A good Slow Gear effect would be good too.

I'm currently trying to decide which modelling package to get GR2 or Amplitude2 and the harmonizer and pitch shifting capabilities are the the main draws that A2 is using to keep me from buying GR2. Well, that and the Kontrol/Logic threads on here ;) I feel an urge to mix up attempts at 90s EVH tone with the odd splash of trying to be a very bad Steve Vai clone.

Marc, mr mod type dude with inside connections, have you heard anything about plans to add any of the things talked about here? Obviously we can't expect you to break any confidences and let out any trade secrets if you're privvy to them, but having a clue about what the devs are talking about would be nice :)

I too would like a more complex reverb unit.

It would also be nice to have more wahs to choose from, and not have to tweak the main wah to try and get the highs to cut through. Something with a more even sweep when put before an amp would be devine.

I feel like I'm giving a wishlist to Santa. I would also like a warp function like that of the GNX line from digitech. I've grown acustomed to switching from clean to distortion by slowly morphing through a growl of tone.

I want to turn on and off multiple effects with one switch, but the on/off button is not modifiable. I've also noticed that controllers reset when you change presets, but modifiers don't. Could you make this an option? because when I change presets, sometimes the way I combine controllers and modifiers gets switched around.

...and if you want to give me a heart attack, put a 13-pin midi converter in Rig Kontrol 3 and incorporate some of your most incredible synth samples into GR.

Thank you for solving all of my guitar needs. NI rules.

Line 6 has a particular flange effect that I like on their spider amps and their flextone amps. It doesn't sound like a standard flange, but it is a very cool tone.

well on that note a step flange or phase would be sweet.
