I'd go for more sampling modules like the Line6 DL-4.

    whammy

the whammy doesn't have a divebomb feature. I want to go lower than 2 octaves, and I want it to still growl when I get down there.

yeah the looper is cool, but for live use, I really just want a DL-4 style sampler!

    These effects MUST be included:

There are also some for the bassist:

The existence of these custom stomp boxes were news to me, but it was certainly about time someone adressed these sonic challenges too. Favourites: both the (talent) booster and (ego) compressor should probably be on at all times. Although you'd think a booster first and compressor later would work against eachother, I think in this case they don't. But the greatest WOW!, and I'm not sure I even dare touch this one: the Steve Ray Vaughnnabe-pedal tempts to wake up the dormant blues rocker in me...

My complaint with the effects is that I feel that the basics aren't even covered...specifically on the delay front.

While many interesting delay effects can be accomplished by chaining one or more of the Quad and/or Psychedelay racks, the problem is that it quickly becomes an uncontrollable mush. You might get something close to what you want, but more likely, you are going to just take whatever you get. Not to mention completely wasting CPU cycles with big delay chains when you might be able to exactly what you need out of a single delay rack.

In my opinion, the whole point of this kind of computer software is control, precision, and configurability.

Something that would be more useful would be a highly configurable multi-tap delay. With it, I'll bet you can accomplish everything the Quad and Psychedelays are going to give you...but more importantly, you will be able to achieve a whole a level of control and precision that you will not get out of either of those generic delay boxes.

    End of rant.

So..if anyone is still reading :D ...I want to be able to specify the number of taps (say, 1-8, maybe more, but probably not necessary)....the timing of each tap...the strength of each tap...the panning of each tap....possibly feedback of each tap.

On top of that, it needs to be fully integrated with the existing control/MDF's so I can hook up, say, an LFO to any property of a specific tap. This is where the power comes from so if this part is skimped on, I guess I'd say don't bother. :(

As soon as you have done this, very custom delay effects can be created, not to mention a whole world of other effects could emulated...flange-like effects, dense shimmering chorus effects, etc.

Please please please include my favourite effect of all time...the "slow gear" effect from the zoom 8080.

Its the variable vibrato/tremolo effect when you let the strings ring complete with adjustable sensitivity and speed of the vibrato/tremolo! :D

"the "slow gear" effect from the zoom 8080."

I'm pretty sure you can build your own version of this using the ASDR or Modifier tool.

Any idea how? I'm not good with the technical stuff :/

What I need is for there to be a constant slow tremolo effect with a faster delayed effect that kicks in when I let the strings ring.

can you record a clip using the zoom? I'm sure that we can help you make it but I keep thinking of the boss slow gear effect which I think is totally different.

Mrzoso's recommendation is a good one - I was just about to reply that I wouldn't be able to work it out without hearing the sound. Also, I did initially confuse this with the Boss slow gear sound, so my component recommendations are probably off-base. Still, I'm almost certain you can get this done with the tools available in GR3.

As for not being good with the techie stuff - why not experiment a bit? You'll probably find brand new sounds you like along the way.

I totally agree with you about the OCD that would be an awsome pedal. Again, with the Univibe though? It is completely possible to do the univibe with the small stone phaser. There is even a patch on the user patch thing where someone has already dialed it in perfectly. and the mid boost? What are you looking for that the EQ's don't already do?

I'd like to see the old MuTron BiPhase; that's still one of my favorite boxes of all times. I have the Audio Damage plugin version of it, but the mono or stereo (depending on routing in the plugin) in freaks out some hosts. Plus, it's too sterile sounding compared to the original.

The other thing I'd like to see is a good pitch shifter...

I think a model of EH's POG(polyphonic octave generator) would be cool. Its got one octave lower two octaves higher and detune capabilities for each octave, plus the tracking is great.

I am with Ew, +1 for the MuTron.

I own the BiPhase and have been wanting that one as well so i can finally stop hauling it around seeing as it's bigger than the RK2 pedal : )
