It seems like GR3 should balance emulating existing boxes and features, improving existing features and providing lower level modules that can be combined in novel ways.

E.g., being able to sound like everyone else (aka, using emulations of existing boxes) has it's place but if you want to do something way out there, GR3 is missing some basic stuff? Either that, or you have to chain together far too many modules to get what you are looking for.

    General fx improvements needed:

The reverbs and delays on my J-Station easily sound better than anything in GR3 and that thing is what, 8-10 years old?

A good start would be a highly configurable multi-tap delay. It doesn't even have to emulate any other box out there.

The pitch shifting effects are really poor. Again, I have much older units that have better octave doubling.

Ability to use my own waveform (say, a .wav file) in place of the provided waveforms in the LFO.

    1) You can create 'ducking delay' with the tools already present in GuitarRig (from v2). Use the Input MDF component which tracks the input curve from your notes, and attach this to the wet/dry mix on the Delay component. When the curve is high it means there's notes coming in, and dealy mix should tend towards 'dry'. When the input curve flattens out it means there are long notes or silence, and the delay mix moves towards 'wet'. Note: to get a smooth transition it is important to work with the 'offset' and 'release' controls on the Input MDF component. Some time is needed to make this sound really musical, but anyway: it is definetly possible to create 'ducking' delay.
    2) I'd love to see a MoogerFooger too, but the Ring modulator introduced in GR3 is quite amazing when you wrangle it, and can do many things at least in the ballpark of that effect.

As for the earlier post about using a custom soundfile for LFO: Wow, why not? This starts to lean against a full Vocoder though, and that WOULD be cool ! ! !

in the advanced settings, I want a text box that allows you to type in a short sentence, similar to the Microsoft Sam thing, that assigns those vowels and consonants to the sweep of the pedal. anything from "wa" to "do you feel alright"

native instruments has already built a badass vocorder, they should just optimize it for guitar and put it GR4

The POG, or better yet, the HOG are definitely on my list of wants. Polyphonic tracking is so cool.

I want a Morley/Award-Session JD-10/20 model. I own a JD-10 and it is by far my favourite distortion/amp sim. I find myself using it more than any of Guitar Rigs amps. I'd even go so far as to say I prefer it over the tube amps I've played, but being hardware it's nowhere near as convenient or flexible as a Guitar Rig effect based on it would be.

I started a thread on this already, but what about a BOSS AC-3 Acoustic Simulator added to the effects rack? I could see that as useful.
