New FM8 Experience Soundbank (160 sounds) info

Hello to all,

I believe it is alright to post this info here, I've seen similar in this and other forum sections - please let me know if I'm mistaken.

I've just released a soundbank for FM8, within Audio Mind Project label. The soundbank contains 160 presets including leads, pads, keys, organs, various synths and others. The sounds are not flawed towards any particular genre, to some extent they're inspired by and derived from my taste. I wanted this set to be versatile, inspiring, playable and usable in real conditions. I'd like to add a fair amount of valuable content to your palette.

What format are these in?

 

They are in .ksd format, made with FM8 v. 1.1.1. But, of course, can be batch converted to the new format if required.

 

Great - thanks for using the old format, not all of us have seen the need to update and this way you cater for old and new users as well as Kore users so your market is bigger

 

It could also have been a sign of protest towards NI

 

Ha ha, well, I have Kore 2, so I can understand your pain, but there wasn't much ideology behind that decision And probably I'll include the new format files together with the .ksd files in a few weeks so that everyone would have what they wanted right away.

 

Immediately after reading that these used the old format I purchased them. I just got them into FM8 and some of these patches sound fantastic. This is one of the best purchases I’ve made this year. Thanx!

I recently bought FM8, havent really played around with it much, and im really a newbie when it comes to this stuff... anyways, this sounds kinda cool i may go ahead and buy this to take advantage of that sale. So I dont understand about this "old format" stuff... does that mean its not gonna work with my version of FM8"? im sure mine is the latest one because i just bought it a couple weeks ago.

it definitely WILL WORK with your FM8 version. FM8 used to use .ksd files format and now the newest version uses .nfm8 files format. "The files are in old format" means that they are .ksd, so that people who didn't update (and there are many of them) can use the sounds BUT ALSO people with the newest FM8 version can use the sounds because they can be easily batch converted within the FM8. If you would have any problems with converting the files, which is easy, just a few clicks, I will send you precise instructions.

The soundbank has been updated to v. 1.02. This means that both .ksd and .nfm8 format presets are included. Tags and descriptions are also present in both formats.
