... I once told myself never to buy any loop library again (and that was good actually), but having something out of the hands of Mr. George Duke might be a totally different thing. The instrument looks really cool and seems to a very user-friendly creation. I really hope NI is already in contact with Mr. Bernard Purdie to record a similar library with single tracks of his drumming. And perhaps that Kontakt instrument could have a sequencer similar to the Kontakt Experience Loop Designer to rearrange the drum loops...

This looks like an interesting library. Especially the new KSP thing that seems to enable front-panel slicing, so cool!

    Thomas,
Paid for it.. downloaded it. It appears to be an exe file but doesn't do anything.. Has this download been tested thoroughly? If so... what are you supposed to do with an unknown file? It is a huge download... so I don't plan to pay for bandwidth to download again if it doesn't even work! I have renamed the file to append the .exe and it appears to be running now.

Oh my gawd, that would be insane! sigh, purdie has got to be the groove master of all times!

    Ouch!

Don't want to go through all that and not be able to use.....append the .exe file?

Yes, just used rename in Windows Explorer view and then added on the dot e x e and then it ran as an executable file okay. I'm not exactly sure why that happened or if they intended it to happen. If they did it would be nice if they had put a note in the download page. It gets confusing with some third party sounds that don't comw with the enhanced library graphics and controls. I didn't know what to expect especially since Kontact sax and brass had to go into KORE Player.

I have been using it and it is lots of fun and can be very useful. If you are a singer like me you can imagine how it would free you up to do some creative stuff by exploring some of the combinations you can do with the plentiful adjustments ... quite extensive and almost overwhelming.

    First big complaint!

Time stretch is weak.....unless there are different algorithms and I just can't find them. So far it's a buzz kill so hoping that it's just a setting somewhere.

Time stretch was always weak in Kontakt. But I think that Beat Machine was used here, in which case speeding up works better than slowing down.

Don't forget that you have access to the actual wave data. You are not limited to the player.

yeah I really like that aspect of it, provides two ways of working with the data.

Yea it's really flexible. NI states directly on the product details page that the wav files are included.

Demo 3 utilized the sounds in this manner.

The player will be extremely convenient for many folks but additionally, the library is awesome for the wav data alone. I get super excited to find open phrases from rhodes, piano, wurly, and clav on vinyl, so this library was great for me, and I generally have not liked loop libraries in the past.

But then again, it's all about how you use your creativity to flip it, just like vinyl.

Any chance that there is a setting where I can get the verb/filter to remain as I change samples?

    IMPORTANT:

I purchased the George Duke collection, updated Kontakt to the latest version 4.1.1, authorized Duke, inserted a Kontakt instrument to a MIDI track in AbletonLive, and then.... this error message:

"This patch was generated by a newer version of the application. Please upgrade your copy to load the patch."

What? I have checked the updates at Native and done everything correctly, as far as I can see. - What did I do wrong?

Hmmmmm, mine loaded up and has worked fine. I did the 4.1.3 update first....I don't know why that would make a diff.

    Maybe just reinstalling might help?
