New instrument release - "Scarbee Funk Guitarist"

It seems to be a server issue, we are still investigating this. More info as I have it.

 

We were given a 5 day window to get everything downloaded at the time of purchase. If it takes longer to resolve the issue than the 5 day window, is NI going to extend the window for those of us affected by this?

I would like to obtain a working Mac installer for Funk Guitarist, as well as a working PC installer for Jay-Bass, both purchased last week with broken downloads.

I get the same excuses from native on a daily basis. its wearing a bit thin now.

Are we supposed to spend hours at a time downloading it time and time again or would it be too much to ask for them to keep us in the loop of whats going on?

 

Hi buddies ... I have not had a solution ... but I think the best we can do is have a little patience ... because I believe that these problems can happen to anyone ... and I think the Native Instruments team should be doing their best to fix it ...
Let's not worry so much because ... I have the certainty that this will be fixed this week ...

Hi Peter, the sound and quality of the grooves are great. This is an instrument I have been waiting for years! I just have one problem as I am not very good in musical theory (chords etc). Is there a way to play live by laying down chords on the keyboards (such as in Realguitar or Virtual guitarist)?

The PC version is working for me now.

 

If you use the MIDI input mode to search for chords then you can hear chords as you play them, but since the guitar chord samples don't get loaded into RAM until you click on them in the listbox or press AUTOMAP to map them the live sound you hear is an electronic keyboard sound introduced to give you some real-time audio feedback. After the chords are mapped they are loaded into RAM and you can hear the guitar sound.

congrats to all involved, this is a fantastic product. Hours of fun in combination with Guitar Rig 4!

I bought it yesterday because i had a film cue to finish real fast and no time/money to hire a player and setup a studio session. 8 gigs took a bit more time than i had to meet my deadline, so once i got it installed i had no time left to read the manual, obviously...

Just so you guys know, i would have loved to know about the B2 trick yesterday as it was driving me crazy not being able to stop Mr Reiff from riffing ; )

I just found out about the B2 key trick now on this forum...

Also since in film cues we need to have tempo changes all the time, sadly on my setup, maybe it's a universal thing, as soon as you reach a tempo change, Funk Guitarist interrupts the playing.

Any idea why? Any workarounds? Since hitting picture changes sometime involves changing tempos anywhere between beats i can't just retrig on the the same beat as the tempo changes occur it obviously gives out of synch results. Isn't it possible for SFG to adjust to these changes in real time? It does work well in loop libraries like Evolve etc...

i use cubase 6 kontakt4 player 4.2.2.4504
try to save a patch or load a patch and i always get this error
"could not save patch"
+ when i create chords and grooves sometime if i save my chords under "user" then when i realod them i see the red light saying samples are not loaded !
i try to reset markers, reload sample ... noting works

please help need this for a work to be done

hell i don't understand what is going on.
sometime i reload kontakt and samples are loaded ... then suddenly one chord doesn't want to get load and i get that red light saying sample not available ...
should i reinstall funk guitar ?
very annoying :S

Can't Unzip Scarbee Funk Guitarist (WIN 7)
Hi, I downloaded the Scarbee Funk Guitarist and seemingly it was successful in that I have 2 very large compressed files (each has about 3.6gb of data in). When I try and unzip, I get an error message and can't decompress. I'd try and download again but my link has expired.

I've already sent a mail to NI Tech Support but haven't had a response yet, so trying to get a headstart...can anyone help?

I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 also & I cannot unzip my files either.

Here's what I did,I opted for the download version and after it was completed using AlZip,I extracted the Set Up Wizard & ran that.It took about 20 minutes to install,so I assumed that all of the sample data was extracted as well.
I then ran my DAW & when I tried to load the sample data,I received an error message saying that it failed & that the error was unknown.I then went back to my download folder & extract all of the sample data,which is separated into two parts.
However,this rendered no change or results whatsoever.
I suppose it's pertinent to mention that during the set up process,I opted for the default settings with regard to the destination folder.

As it turns out,I in fact,did not decompress anything,so therein lies the problem,I think?
Perhaps it's a issue with AlZip?

Is there any chance to change the key (by a midi control) during a song or do I have to load several instances of SFG configured as needed in different parts of a song?

Sorry my english please ... I do not know if I understood well ... but you say you need to load multiple instances for different parts of a song ..
If so ... and your song is in a style of pop .. You can upload a guitar style that suits your theme ... and within that style you've loaded into the guitar can make changes.
These variations of tone and figures that makes you change keyswitches ....
If you look ... keys on the left side will change the tone ... and the right will change the musical figure ...

If you want to change the style of the guitar in a song ... I advise you to divide the styles midi channels and load each instance of the guitar in the style you need in a different midi channel ...

Now if you're a little more specific in your question maybe I can help you better ...
I hope you understand what you need and I've helped a little ...

I Just bought the scar bee funk guitarist and it's awesome, but I can't get it to hit in time on the one in my logic 9 daw.

I have the same problem. I've been trying to download the big zip files for Scarbee Funk Guitarist 5 times, and now I only have the first DVD1 image, that I think is working. I can unpack the zip and run the exe validation. But I haven't been able to get DVD2 downloaded.

I get zip errors and also validation errors in the exe file. Never had so much trouble with downloading bigger files from http?

Till now, I've been scratching my head en anger :angry: Now I'm trying to download DVD2 again for the 7th time, and cross my finger the archive is good

Just tried to download the second dvd2 image again. And this time I couldn't unpack the zip archive, got this error:

C:\Users\Moef\Downloads\Scarbee Funk Guitarist\Scarbee_Funk_Guitarist_PC_2.zip: CRC failed in Scarbee Funk Guitarist 1.0.0 Setup PC 2.exe. The file is corrupt

File is corrupt. I think it's the 7th or 8 time I try to download this archive. I've tried with a dedicated standalone download manager, but download was still corrupted?

So now I'm using Firefox 4. I think I got the first DVD1, and it could be validated without problems. Man it's irritating!

 

Moan, grumble, mutter....Argh!

I must have downloaded parts 1 & 2 at least 20 times and each time the files are corrupt. I filled out a support ticket, but I don't want to wave the white flag of defeat so soon, especially since I well..... http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105589&highlight=DJ+Pete+Marriott ummm you get the point.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

 

DJ Pete, as said in my previous topic entry, I'm on my 10th download or so. Can't can't keep track of the number of times I've tried to download a valid DVD2 archive of Scarbee's Funk Guitar. Man is this irritating. As you, I've now also contacted NI support. There's definitely something wrong with the archives. Unpacking the zip always stops at about 99% here. I clear the browser cache everytime, and is now on my second download manager, trying to see if this does it any better, but not

I've got. It's great! Except how do I get to stop playing the loop when I lift my hand off the keyboard. I plays on forever!
