    Hi all,

We just released the new "True Strike Tension" soundpack:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=truestriketension

This pack is based on sample material from ProjectSAM's popular "True Strike 2" library, with all sounds taking advantage of the special Kore features.

If you have any questions about this soundpack, post them here.

    Regards, Thomas

    Hi,

Can you let us know what is included in the "30 kits". Are they multi-samples velocity layers? A list of the kits would be very helpful.

    Thanks

I bought this and like it very much. I'm only using the free Kore player though. Can I use these samples in Battery 3 ?

    You can use the samples.

However, there aren't any Battery kits for it; just Kontakt 3 .nkis. So, you'd have to roll your own kits.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I would be curious to know the answer to this. The sample TS kit in the Compilation pack is doesn't have multi-sampled layers, which does seem to be limiting in terms of arranging dynamic drum parts.

At the same time, I can't believe that ten drum single-layer kits add up to 1gb of samples!

Can anyone who owns the pack, or NI, please clarify? Thanks.

update: I did some Googling and found this thread:

    http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-64044.html

...in which one user of the pack says: "for me, one of the biggest problems with it is that it seems to have no velocity layering or round robining at all. That means it's good as far as it goes (and it does have some very good sounds in it, well-recorded as you would expect from SAM, at a tiny fraction of the price), but, ummm, it doesn't go very far."

So what makes up the 1gb of samples then?

Hi all, it seems that the thread from which I quoted above isn't right. I've now heard from 2 users of the soundpack (moderator ew, and mdf25) that it DOES contain velocity layering. mdf25 kindly agreed to let me post his PM here since I think it'll be helpful to other potential buyers:

It's a great set of sounds, very Bear McCreary/Battlestar Galactica.

Why isn't true strike working with Kore2? Do I have to use Kore Player to use it?

Works for me with Kore 2, though my samples went missing so I reinstalled TST and now it's fine.

    True Strike with Kontakt?

I bought True Strike (download version) today and install it. It doesn't show up in my Kontakt library, nor did the installation give me the option of setting it up into my Kontakt library.

On the True Strike webpage it mentions that it does work with Kontakt, but it specifically says Kontakt 3 full version. I own Kontakt 4 crossgrade version. I did assume it would work with mine.

Is there a process to get Kontakt to look at my new True Strike samples?

    I'm on a PC.

    Hi,

Just bought TST, sounds great so far! A couple of questions:

In Kore Player I have 33 programs, but only 10 in Kontakt. Are all the samples being accessed by those 10 Kontakt .nki's?

Also, everytime I load a patch in Kore 2 Player, I get the Kontakt error message saying missing samples. After I point it to the right folder it works, but resets so that I have to re-point it everytime I load the koresound! How can I resolve this?

    Help is much appreciated.

    Oops- I didn't see this- sorry =(

TST won't show up as a library under the library tags. Where the .nkis will show up is in Kontakt's file browser. You need to browse to the TST subfolder in your Kore 2 /Kore player sample content folder.

    Welcome =)

Yep. What you're seeing in the Kore versions are different FX,etc.
See if the path to the player sample library's set correctly. TST should have installed the sample content to a subfolder of that folder.

Ok, I moved the libraries into what appears to be the default. So far, all the Kore compilations seem to choose different folders for default, doesn't seem very standard.

Now it works great though, thanks!
