Sounds fat, and it's all completely new samples, nice.

It looks like all new NI sample/preset material will be released as Kore Packs from now on, and not for the individual programs as was done in the past (ie Kontakt Experience, Synthetic Drums, FM Sounds). I have no problem with that, as I rather like Kore and NI might as well incorporate all of the options and creativity available with Kore. It's good marketing as well, as non-Kore owners can buy in cheaply using the Kore Player. The Kore Player was a brilliant move, IMO, it should really bring a lot of users into the NI fold.

Will future major updates to Kontakt and Battery (versions 4+) have their included libraries be in the Kore Pack format (with transparent editing in Kontakt, Massive etc.)? I'd vote for that, as these Kore Packs are starting to put the Kontakt 3 library to shame with their quality and good integration with Kore.

...nice to see that with this Kore Soundpack NI takes a step into a direction which uses more than one resource of Kore (combining Massive and Kontakt) focussing more on a certain sound and aesthetic rather than presenting a single instrument (in the long term this would possibly devalue their instruments). Kore's integrated sound engines provide everything you need and I'm curious to see what other styles will be released as Kore Soundpacks (DnB, House, Techno, Electro, Ambient etc.) - perhaps NI will also establish an artist line for the Kore Soundline (and perhaps reconsider if Patrice should present these in video demos :D) ...

That's not entirely true as the sounds of many of the recent Kore Soundpacks can also be loaded into the individual instruments, for example Transient Attacks, the Massive expansion etc. Likewise the sounds in Urban Arsenal can also be loaded into Battery/Kontakt and Massive directly.

It's too early to say for Kontakt and Battery, but since many individual NI instruments now also load the KoreSound format directly (like FM8 and Massive for example), it's eventually all going to become one format anyway.

I got it the minute I saw the newsletter. It sounds pretty good so far. I've been experimenting a bit and I like what i see.

When installed correctly you should have all the samples. I had no issues when installing it in Windows XP and Mac OS X.
